Support Butch Jones

I can see why no one would want any part of Tennessee coaching. We are an embarrassment waiting to happen almost constantly

Nothing has happened at this university that is worse than what had occurred at Florida State under J. Fisher. One of the primary reasons this story has blown up is the name "Peyton Manning." The media saw an opportunity to make a big story out of a civil (not criminal) law suit by dragging his good name through this clown-like action.

For now my stance, as a person with the philosophy of giving someone the benefit of the doubt, is to do exactly that.

Especially since he wasted zero time to issue a public response adamantly denying the allegations and more importantly stated he will FIGHT the allegations.

Two allegations have been brought against Jones in his 3 years at UT. "Punching" a player who later denied the incident happened the then recently charge with a very major serious crime in Florida. Now, this current allegation made by affidavit to amend an open-ended lawsuit from a former athlete who has very contradictory stories and statements about what actually happened....

If it were me, I would stand my ground and exhaust every effort to defend myself.

To me, it would be easier to believe this happened if it were more of an isolated incident. Like, if it were just about the Johnson/Williams/alleged victims/Bowles matter. But, this is all part of some rather wild and bizarre accusations in the lawsuit naming Mannings mooning incident from 20 years ago (everyone from that era and administration are gone) and naming Lil Jon. Those insertions make it kind of eye brow raising for me.

If he said what he supposedly said to the Drae, and I know that family, he needs his ass handed to him before he exits stage left

CBJ has shown great character in his time at UT. He has given me no reason to question his character. I don't know enough about Drae Bowles to question his character, but I do question his decision making.
You date a woman who was known to be sleeping with a team mate, however you blame the team mate and not the woman. You've changed your story multiple times to appease said woman. Why put your future in jeopardy over a woman that cared about you so much that she was actively cheating on you. I don't understand some guys.

They have to consider whether settling this out of court and making it go away is in the better interest of the program. Even if there is no truth to any of this whatsoever...but two more women came forward today and this is gaining steam. It's a tough call.

one of the women that came forwards allegations were proven to be false and the other one is a good chance that they are false as well

Are you referring to Bowles' first two statements or the one he just made as he jumped on board the litigation train so that he could get paid?

Should 20 more women come forward, it would not matter. The Bill Cosby situation has 53 women in that lawsuit and nothing will likely come from it.
If bUtch is telling the truth, then all will be good for him. However; for Maggitt, I doudt he gets an opportunity in the NFL because of this negative publicity. General Managers will likley select a L.B. with lesser talent that Maggitt and not draft Maggitt because of this.

Are you referring to Bowles' quote to a reporter in an interview a year ago? Or the statement in the sworn affidavit.

I know everything I need to know. I support Coach.

So you need to know absolutely nothing? Blindly supporting Jones or UT at this point without knowing really any of the facts is just as bad as these people assuming UT is guilty of creating a culture of rape. Let the **** play out to see what the facts are.

Regardless that Drae said one thing to the news and now something has made him change his story. He still lied . Damn a Lie is a lie. It does not matter who you tell it to. He can make a statement under oath now to get paid. But it still does not mean one of his TWO statements are not total BS. As far as backing coach . I do. I would hate to have some of you with me in a bad situation you would turn and run when things hit the fan. To the ones afraid to take a stand for someone who has not done anything to question his character . It is easy to hide in the corner and wait for outcome so you can come out and say where you stand then one way or the other. I hope whomever's responsibility it is to keep you safe is braver than you because I am afraid you would cower in a corner and hope they leave you alone. Go Vols! Brighter days are coming.

I could give a rats behind what he said to Bowles, Bowles is not a victim here. He is a man. So many high horses in here there must be some devils lettuce in the oat bags.

Evidently most of the world is exactly like my wife. It doesn't matter what I mean when I state something; if she can interpret something negative, that's what she hears.

If those words came from Jones mouth, I can think of at least a dozen ways where context would show it being anything but negative toward the kid.

That depends on how well you know that person. It is not ignorant to support someone who has gained your trust and confidence from accusations which seem out of character. It is ignorant to condemn someone that you do not know at all before the facts come out.

...and as far as facts are concerned: Drae Bowles has changed his story regarding what 'Jane Doe IV' said to him in the car on the night she claims to have been sexually assaulted by AJ Johnson and Michael Williams.

Even if someone has gained your trust, you still don't really know them. In fact, we often don't even know our own selves.
For instance, how many wives or husbands think that their spouse would never cheat on them? Only to be proven wrong. How many wives or husbands think that their spouse would never attempt to kill them? Only to be proven wrong. How many people think that because Johnny is always happy and laughing that he will never commit suicide? Only to find out that he did.
Father McConnell would never molest children! I have known Father McConnell all my life and he loves the Lord.
We think we know what people are capable of doing and what their boundaries are, but we really don't know them.

With all of the negativity by the media towards coach Jones... I thought it would be cool for Volnation to show him some love. Like sending him a card. A very large card. Signed by everyone.

I believe that bUTch is innocent.

THis has to be a "vast left wing conspiracy by the Democrats and by U of Alabama to smear him because they can't beat us on the field"
Ask HIllary, she knows all about this stuff.
