So, bear with me here
I got this game as part of a really big trade-in group with what was left at the end. I really thought it would be just an ok game that was really just an expansion or rehash or whatever not really worth the play. Like kinda fun but just a poor attempt on their part.
....A week later, boy was I wrong. I have been absolutely blown away by how enjoyable this game has been. Like seriously, though it started a bit slow in about the first world or so, I really have had trouble putting it down.
The game oozes of creativity, it's very well made, the soundtrack is fantastic and the gameplay actually getting frustratingly challenging in the latter half...but in a good way that makes me keep playing till I beat it. In the end -and i guess most importantly of all - it's just really really fun to play and to keep playing.
(I'm taking this moment to step back and say, I'm not a "fanboy" of any sort whatsoever. I don't like games b/c of characters or brand repeated names. I'm often very critical of games and series that work that way (i.e. the madden series for one). And I'm quite willing to say when I think something's bad - a friend had given me Mario Sunshine (I feel this works as an appropriate example due to...well it makes sense) and I thought (and still do) that game was absolute garbage)
It really doesn't bore or repeat itself.
Honestly, between Mario Galaxy 2 and Red Dead Redemption (a great game also, really), I lost a week and a half of my life....and I sincerely don't want it back.
It's turned out to be a really great game all around, which I guess I keep saying because I sincerely thought it was going to be just "meh" or "ok" and something to stay away from.
If you have the system, I suggest you pick it up for the play. It is a fantastic game. (If not, don't start that console war bullsh--; seriously, that's for kindergarten kids out on playgrounds back in the 90s).
Great game. Worth the buy.
