Will be how many Bama commits he flips to UTK. If we're going to get behind this hire, he needs to ante up with LB and a DT.

Why does everyone do this every time? Like its a done deal. naive

Thanks, I'm glad someone else is trying to keep a level head too. I mentioned this last night when all the Sunseri talks were blowin' this board up. How many times this week have we had multiple sites at the same time report that candidate X is new UT DC - done deal.... Some folks don't learn I guess. Will wait for the University/Hart/Dooley to make an official announcement before I believe anything.

So you're saying I should have waited to get my "Randy Shannon VFL!!" tattoo?

Granted this is remarkably early to be asking but I don't see any of Sunseri's recruits being that close to Tennessee that would put them in play to be swung. We went after a few but nothing jumps out at me as someone who you would think is a candidate for a switch.

Alabama isn't exactly small potatoes, I don't see any kid here whose commitment is more about Sunseri than the opportunity to play for the current "it" program in college football.

I think Sunseri is a good coach, but not DC material. It doesn't matter anyway because earlier posts are right in that he will not leave until his son graduates. Also- people say he is a good recruiter? We don't know for sure because all he has been doing lately is showing up at kid's houses with a big A on his shirt, points to it, and then he's done:)

Zero. Don't see Coach Sal leaving before Vinnie graduates.

Even if Sal doesn't come to UT. I doubt very much that that is his reason for staying. Sal also has another son who is QB at Pitt, and I doubt seriously he favors one over the other. Besides, why would he want to send the message to his son that it is OK to put your life and opportunities on hold just for the sake of hanging around in Tuscaloosa. Vinnie doesn't need his hand held he is a big boy.

Dooley is just at the interview stage or so it seems. Might be a while yet before we have a DC.

:twocents:I really hate how desperate we have become as Vol fans. We jump at any scrap like a starving dog, then snap at the growling dog beside us.

First, I'm still not convinced Sunseri will leave his son. Second, I'm not sure recruiting to Tennessee will be as easy as recruiting to Alabama. A brand new crystal football that matches the one they've got from two years ago would make any high school kid look at him through crimson colored glasses.

Since '08 we've had players and coaches diving off the ship like it's the freaking Titanic.

Can't change that perception overnight.

Kirven was being recruited by Sunseri. I would expect a renewed interest from him. Beyond that who knows. I'm sure that Santos has met Sunseri during his visits to Bama.

Zero is correct. You won't see any impact on recruiting until next year's class. That is, if he is even hired.
