Been watching Sportcenter and they haven't brought it up. Man I want us to be relevant again. Here's to a winning 2012 season!

Add in any SEC Championships as well.

I am slowly, ever so slowly stepping back on the Dooley train. However, I will not leave the station on board until I know that he has got the offensive scheme changed and has got his act together for game day. Last year's O after the Hunter injury killed the season since the D had to stay on the field so much. If Lance is staying it bodes well for the D-line and LB continuity since he and Sal know both roles. I am loving the recruiting angle by adding 3 killer recruiters in Jay, Sam and Sal. Not having an RB coach for two years was a major backfire of Dooley's. Now that is fixed with one of the best. Good possibilities to finish this class off strongly and for the current roster to be more postive going into spring practice.

Now finish with the TE/ST and LB coaches and it is good to go if they keep it together of a couple of years.

"The chance to work with Derek Dooley, who has been around championships and knows what it takes to build an elite program, combined with the rich tradition of the University of Tennessee, makes this opportunity so exciting to me," Sunseri said in a statement. "I am fired up to work with all of the young talent on the defensive side of the ball, and I can't wait to get up to Knoxville and coach them." - CSS

My question is what championships has CDD been around?

He needs one in his own right. First time for everything.

First, Dooley was around when Saban built the team that won the BCS in LSU....he knows what needs to be done.

Second, seeing these hires, I think Jim Chaney is on very short leash this year.

Last, WELCOME COACH SAL...I hope we are forced to renew that 3 yr deal many times over!!!

So much the sweeter that he comes from Bama....:pepper:

Remember the last coach you poached from Bama? Something about "building a fence around Memphis" or something like that. :birgits_giggle:

With that said, this is a good move for you guys as Sunseri is an outstanding coach and recruiter, but even you guys have to admit he is in for a tough job.

I have to say because you know you are thinking it but, I doubt you will be poaching any recruits from Bama with this hire. I mean let's face it Nat'l Title or a non bowl team in 2011 team? But there are a lot of good defensive talent you can get that could benefit from Sunseri (McCullers, for example). One last thing, before people are wondering, Vinnie has already said on twitter he is a "Crimson Tider" and basically says he isn't following his father to Tennessee.

Glad we have a coach, but how is this better than promoting LT?

I'm thinking we needed a different scheme to move forward. CDD can't afford to mess this one up. Hart probaly had some say in this one so the blame can be shared if it goes wrong. Just IMO that's all...

Nice tie in ur avatar btw... I love me a nice tie, and one that uses orange that well is a plus for sure. :good!:
