Exactly.

We need more size at DL
We need more speed at LB
We need more speed and FOCUS at DB

We're going to struggle with the upper echelon of the SEC until we have those tools to work with.

Coaching is a big part of it guys but we've got some holes to fill on and off the field.

We're building quality D-line depth. Our three starters could play anywhere. Hood, Miller, etc. are solid backups. Depth will be better once O'brien, Taylor, and Phillips have had a year in the system.

Maggitt and A.J. have the talent to play anywhere, but they're still just sophomores. Sapp and Propst are solid guys but probably a little undersized. Fugate is an athlete, but he might as well be a frosh in terms of playing linebacker. Christian Harris getting hurt was a bigger loss than we maybe realized. Depth should get better with Zanca, Vereen, etc.

Brewer should only see the field in special packages. He's just too slow. He's also bigger than necessary for safety; it's up to the coaches to figure out how to use his specific skill set. EG is a beast. Losing Randolph hurt. Bottom line is we will be better off when guys like McNeil, Gray, Bonner, etc. have enough experience to start. I also wouldn't be surprised the see someone like Blanc get moved to safety, depending on what our WR depth looks like.(Please don't start a debate about Blanc, it's been discussed at length.) Getting Miles, Bell, JRM, and others on the Hill would/will help.

I agree. We're off, but not by much. We need more experience and guys that have COME UP on this system. No one is going to look like a 3-4 expert YET. They need more time to develop as players, and the coaches need more time to develop the players.

I blame duane allman...my first concert in 1969 at ETSU in the auditorium was Allman Bros and Goose Creek Symphony...20 min version of Whipping Post...He died on that bike not much later...dont really blame Duane just wanted to share because of your avatar...met them at the after concert party at the Camara Inn and Greg was a butt-wipe...

Lol. Thanks for the story. I have little doubt that the Vols would be SEC contenders if Duane Allman was still here. Or if Greg hadn't been a butt wipe. :)

It was Wilcox's fault now it's SS fault. Never the head man who runs things. Smh

If they can blame someone else, it may buy Dooley another couple years. Replace Wilcox as it was all his fault. Maybe this year replace SS or JC. Next year blame the hotdog vendors. With Vince, Barbara, and Dooleys accountant on here posting under an alias they are fighting for a few more million dollars before he gets a buyout.

"He just needs more time!"

Any other progam with an ounce of self respect would have fired him already. Only reason I think he is still here is Hart thinks he might be able to tighten up the budget if Dooley could just win a game or 2. Losing always costs more than hiring the right man for the job.

We've only recruited about 15 db's in the past 3 years. This was supposed to be one of the deepest, most talented groups on the team.
