last I checked..
therefore the Horrendous tackling and defensive schemes should be blamed on him...not dooley...

I hope I am wrong but I just don't think Sunseri was/is ready to be d coordinator in SEC.

Dooley hired Sunseri and is his supervisor. If Dooley isn't satisfied with Sunseri's performance, it's on Dooley to make the changes he feels are needed.

It was Wilcox's fault now it's SS fault. Never the head man who runs things. Smh

What exactly was Wilcox's fault? That we finished 26th in total D last year? I wish we could "blame" Sunseri for that this year. Wilcox did a solid job while he was here.

In years past, when UT actually had the TALENT on D, there was no excuse for poor performance. If our guys were playing like crap it was easy to say that their hearts weren't in it or that the coaching was crap because we KNEW THAT WE HAD GREAT PLAYERS.

These days, Sal and Dooley are not working with the greatest pieces in that defense. I like all of our players, but we're not going to act like we have E Berry, Haynesworth, Henderson, Wilson, and Little out there. Guys, this is not a sound defense. The players aren't up to par with the rest of the SEC.

The players have not truly grasped the system, and the ones that do simply do not have the speed and strength to finish the play.

HOWEVER, I believe that the D will start to gel as the season goes on. We're going to be a stiff team come SCar and through November.

Guys, we're not there yet personnel wise. You can't put it on the coaches when we've got pretty good players trying to tackle great players and we're not even in the right place.

GIVE SAL TIME. I see the vision on defense and we look GREAT when they are where they're supposed to be. The fact is that our players (who are not as fast or strong as the rest of the SEC) are still grasping a new 3-4 system that they haven't mastered yet.

Get over it, and watch for improvement instead of criticizing every flaw.

I liked Wilcox. When he was here and we lost big a couple times last year people said he wasn't an SEC DC and his schemes didn't work for the SEC blah , blah blah. Now it's " I don't know if SS is SEC DC material" " he is too inexperienced" blah blah.

I think Sunseri is one of our better coaches. It takes time to install a completely new defense. Yes, the D will be worse this year, but it will be much better next year. Plus, we don't have the players with lightenting speed to play with these SEC teams.

If anybody above, including the bama chick, can name a team that made the 4-3 to 3-4 switch in 1 year and was successful at it please post said team on this board. I don't want to see "it don't matter we suck!" posts...numbers would be nice.

Thank you

Exactly.

We need more size at DL
We need more speed at LB
We need more speed and FOCUS at DB

We're going to struggle with the upper echelon of the SEC until we have those tools to work with.

Coaching is a big part of it guys but we've got some holes to fill on and off the field.

You gotta blame Dooley too, it was his bright idea to hire him

I know this will come as a shock to some on here, but the success of the ala defense was saban and smart, not the lb coach.

I will blame everyone under the sun if it gets us wins.

I blame duane allman...my first concert in 1969 at ETSU in the auditorium was Allman Bros and Goose Creek Symphony...20 min version of Whipping Post...He died on that bike not much later...dont really blame Duane just wanted to share because of your avatar...met them at the after concert party at the Camara Inn and Greg was a butt-wipe...

Let's just fire everyone including the janitors and all the hysterical keyboard cowboys will be happy. (For a little while)

You're making to much sense for some people on this board to understand you.
