I tend to agree. Although it was great to see Bartholomew's role in the offense, Chaney just doesn't seem to like running the ball out of the I.
I also wonder if we have simply become too predictable even in the pistol...a formation designed to guard against predictability.
Off topic, but Cordarrelle is on the ESPN NCAA football front page right now. You click the video and they don't talk about him once though. ESPN hates us.

I don't know if it is vision or just instinct but Neal thinks everything should be bounced outside. Lane on the other hand plants and heads up field. If Neal can't start getting 5 yds before even thinking about cutting to the outside.... give the job to Lane.2. With that being said, our running game between the tackles is still terrible. They better keep it between the tackles the entire Ga State game, just to prepare for FL. FL has too fast of LBs to go East/West, and it looked like NC State kept at at bay running outside as well.
That wasn't his play calling. That wasn't even blocking. I actually like Neal but he HAS to start knowing the situation and getting north and south.7. Jim Chaney's play calling is still suspect. There were several times I asked myself what I was watching. I love the fact we can hit the big play down field, but I'm scared too death with what we are going to do in the SEC when faced with 3rd and 5, and no between the tackles running game.
Wow. That's just nitpicking. He drilled it in because he was facing a very good secondary.... and shredding them.9. Bray needs to learn a bit of touch. Throwing it full bore all the time isn't the best practice, and he won't be able to to that at the next level. Hope he gets that down.
Sapp looked very good. Bohannon has potential. Uncertain why J Williams didn't play. Was he injured? Fugate will contribute.11. AJ, Curt, and Jaq really impressed me playing LB. They will cause problems this year for teams, but we don't have much below them, so health is going to be a big concern with our LB.
All the good ones can....
All the good running teams can. Now note the fact that you, personally, know that we are not a run-first team and that our biggest strength, far and away, is our passing game, what are you complaining about? Why is CJC a bad playcaller when he avoids our weakness in a crucial situation that doesn't merit a running scenario?
There are plenty of other scenarios you can use to make an argument, but yours is not constructed very well.

I agree if he keeps running East and West. Honestly i hate that formation. You really can't be a physical running team out of it. It's a read and react style of running. It takes vision by the back, not just run to where the hole is supposed to be. It's slower developing and that usually doesn't work out well against the speed in the SEC.
What would you have changed? Its been noted that they game planned Amerson. Because he liked to jump underneath routes they planned to go over the top and guess what...they did, repeatedly. He sent the signals in that were responsible for over 300 in the air and 200 on the ground. What in Gods name is wrong with those numbers?Despite the offensive stats, Chaney's playcalling is still our biggest weakness IMO. NC State is not an SEC caliber defense. Unless they improve in the next few weeks, UF isn't up to snuff for an SEC defense either. Our first true test might not be until we face Georgia. If we don't develop a north and south run game, Bama's D will eat us alive.
Wasn't there a fourth and short play called that had Neal running outside rather than pushing it up the middle? That was a horrible play call. Even if you fail to convert, you give your big boys a chance to push their d-line back and make that surge.
