Doom and gloom until we win! We actually have a shot at a decent class (even by SEC standards). Regardless, I think butch will have these guys ready to play by the fall and we need to support them to the fullest! So stop the whining, butches!

Lol, that list is hillarious with players like foreman in a level above Sutton.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

The only reason I kind of did that is that the last I heard there was some doubt if Sutton would even be a part of the class....since I'd heard there was doubt, I put him in the doubtful category, it really has nothing to do with his ability < Foreman. If he'd been an EE I would've probably put him in the open-minded category.

And as for TE's, I'm just not sure how it's going to play out. I think both we have signed now may be put in a position to play *this* year, but long-term part of me wonders whether they will be recruited over in the coming class.

Pretty much this. I'm pretty sure out staff sold North on being an immediate starter so look for him thus year. I could see Carr being a rotational guy all over the DL. Depending on JRM's position he could get some good snaps. Barring injuries I don't see any OL getting playing time. Vereen could potentially be a contributor depending on his game ready he is.

Also if we get Bell, Levenberry, Bellamy they could contribute as Fr. We should be in wait and see mode right now!

Has JRM's shoulder healed, or will surgery be required? He couldn't even practice for the last several games of the season.

I've gotten it on several web pages today (including Volnation)...and I'd never before seen that pop up.

:banghead2: Just leave

Nope, don't think I will.

The last time I checked you don't own the board sparky, so if you don't like my posts, here's an idea......

Don't read them !!!

It doesn't take a genius to figure that out, so even you might be able to catch on !!!

If Louisville can b*tch slap Florida the way they did with their level of talent (probably about the same or less than UTs), then we've always got a chance. Quality schemes, good conditioning, good field management and a little creativity on offense and who knows?

Think Ford may announce to us today. Barber committed to Auburn yesterday and I think that means Ford becomes a Vol. if he does, and we get Bell, Miller and Levenberry, it'll be a top 15 class with North, Harris, Carr, Vereen, Jenkins et al which will be very good given all circumstances.

Ok so scrap my thought here on Ford. Figured the dominoes began to fall after Ole Miss committed Barber- thought this made up Fords mind quickly and that he would come on to UT. Him not committing today shoots that whole thought down. Bet he goes to AU. Ugh.

Tennessee , lots of second place for blue chippers. This will change with W's on the field of play.

Normally I agree that Ws=great recruiting class but how do we explain Auburn (2 wins) and even Ole Miss (1 .500 year but historically suck) absolutely killin it? Winning certainly doesn't hurt but these 2 prove winning ain't everything.

Not sure about this "doubtful impact" business. For example, who can even predict what position Lemond Johnson will play? IMO, he has the potential of becoming an impact player at most any skilled position... Which leads me to my reply to this thread.

In general, this class is very strong in the skilled positions, especially if Bell is signed, but it will end up a little short up front. The quality of the linemen on board so far looks pretty good, just not enough of them to build the depth we all want to see eventually.

I agree and that seems the case most years. The d-line seems to have been patch work since the chief went south. Winning doesn't cure everything. Jones has got to build relationships with high school's in the area.

I really want to see how jones does with player developement. That has been lacking for a while. I'm not to sure about next year's team but if they are better at the end of the year than the beginning I'll be pleased. I'm not fooling myself into believing we will compete for any thing next year.

Feeling Very Positive about their Impact at UT:
Marquez North
Corey Vereen
Jalen Reeves-Maybin
Austin Sanders

Open-Minded but Taking a Wait and See Approach:
Jason Carr (will receive heat for this, but I just temper expectations on DE/DT prospects at this university these days, the court of public opinion always seems to feel underwhelmed by our higher profile DL, even if and when they have a productive career.)
Paul Harris (will probably receive heat for this too, but I just think he's going to take a little longer to develop his game, and I'm just going off the formula that receivers are just a highly unpredictable type of player)
Riyahd Jones
Malik Foreman
A.J. Branisel
Brett Kendrick
Ryan Jenkins

Doubtful about their Future Impact at UT:
Cameron Sutton
Woody Quinn
Josh Smith
Riley Ferguson
Lemond Johnson
Dylan Wiesman

Seing how Wiseman is thought of being the best lineman in Ohio this year, methinks your list is crap.
