Sugar Bowl

Gah, now people are complaining about possibly going to the Sugar Bowl????

If we would have backed into the SEC championship game im sure the negavols would be on here saying:

"sad day when tennessee has to back into a championship game...butch has really torn this team down to the bare bones"

Haha. Its sad. I hope these people dont have kids. Good lord. Can you imagine growing up under that type of mindset???

"Sad day when you can only get a B+ on your finals. I cant believe you turned out to be such a failure....you are no son of mine."

Haha. Its comical. Truly.

yes. if FL beats FSU, and just doesn't get their doors blown off against Bama, they could wind up in New Orleans.

if aTm beats LSU, and FL loses the last two, aTm could wind up ranked higher, and in New Orleans.

bottom line...Sugar is still on the table for us, followed by Citrus, Outback, Tax Slayer. i think that's the order.

but it's far from a done deal.

It goes:

CFP

Sugar

Orange - but ONLY if SEC team is ranked higher than Big Ten teams left after the CFP and Rose Bowl make their picks.

Citrus

Then Outback/ Music City / Belk / Taxslayer / Texas / Liberty Bowls. They're all on the same tier - the "pool of 6" - where the SEC front offices make the bowl placements (they get the requests from the bowls about which teams they like, the teams send them requests about which bowls they'd like to go to, and the front offices work from there).

^and the SEC front offices determine that part based on things like which of the bowls the teams has recently been to, distance for fanbases to travel, preventing recent regular season or bowl game rematches, and a few more criteria.

Vandy is the gatekeeper to a better bowl for UT this year. Win and everything will fall nicely into place IMO.

If your boss offers you a promotion because the 3 guys that were in front of you to get the job fricked it up, are you going to feel like you backed into the promotion and don't deserve it?
