Hunter going down and absolutely no depth.

The other seven receivers on UT’s current roster are walk-ons — though sophomore Antonio Jones, a close friend and former junior-college teammate of Maurice Couch, drew a bit of praise for his performance on more than one occasion in preseason camp. We haven’t checked on Jones’ status in a bit, though. He’d recently been bothered by a nagging injury.

We were starting 2 elite WR's. It's kinda hard to build depth when both starting WR's are that good. You don't want to take them off the field. We have 14 WR's on the 2011 UT roster not named Hunter. I'm sure we'll find a few that can fill Hunter's spot until next year. What's Oliver's status?

2 Naz Oliver WR 5-10 177 RS SO Jersey City, N.J. (Saint Peter's)
3 Tyler Drummer WR 6-1 165 RS SO Powell (Univ. of Cumberlands)
6 Vincent Dallas WR 5-11 185 FR Ellenwood, Ga. (Cedar Grove)
10 Antonio Jones WR 6-4 215 RS SO Timmonsville, SC (Garden City C.C.)
11 Justin Hunter WR 6-4 200 SO Virginia Beach, Va. (Ocean Lakes)
13 DeAnthony Arnett WR 6-0 175 FR Saginaw, Mich. (Saginaw)
21 Da'Rick Rogers WR 6-3 215 SO Calhoun, Ga. (Calhoun)
27 Jacob Carter WR 6-0 181 RS FR Nashville (Ensworth)
36 Anthony Anderson WR 5-11 185 RS SR Knoxville, Tenn. (Austin East)
40 Chris Cates WR 5-10 189 RS JR Knoxville (Christian Academy of Knoxville)
80 Dylan West WR 6-1 181 RS FR Oneida (Oneida)
82 Cory Eichholtz WR 5-8 184 RS JR Knoxville, Tenn. (Bearden HS)
83 Zach Rogers WR 6-0 180 JR Nashville (David Lipscomb)
85 Matt Milton WR 6-5 210 SO Mascoutah, Ill. (Mascoutah)
87 Alex Ellis WR 6-4 215 FR Del Mar, Del. (Del Mar)

Thread should say thin at superstar. How many super stars do most deep teams have? Not many. Add that we are thin plus young and we have even less. Our most athletic defensive player gone and now the most athletic offensive player gone. I don't give a hoot how deep you are you don't replace guys like that you simply work around not having them.

Oliver was converted to defense. I believe on the first day he was on campus.

Milton, Arnett, D. Rogers, Z. Rogers, and Dallas. Unless we are constantly running 4 wide I dont think we will have an issue. If more injuries occur we can always pull Teague back over. I dont think this is an issue or that it will become one.

Guys...what ever happened to matt milton. This kid was a stud out of high school and a high rated 4 star. All we heard in spring was how he was putting pressure on the other WR for playing time. If we can get solid play from him, then in my opinion, we are still solid at this position with Rogers and DA.

Weak position? Weaker, yes. But when a first teamer goes down, the backups and the rest of the first teamers have to step up. D. Rogers is now your go to guy. Z. Rogers has to quit being afraid of getting hit and continue his routes. Arnette and Milton have to up their game. Get the running backs and line to get the run game going. Damn people, this is a team sport. Yes losing Hunter was a bad break, but I'm sorry, I just don't see wide receiver being a weak position. You want to see a weak position, let something happen to Bray.

The other seven are walk-ons? Was the quote talking about after Oliver, Dallas, Arnett, Rogers, Anderson, and Milton?? Sorta hard to understand when you don't include info like that in your post. We may not have the most experienced group out there, but we are not totally devoid of talent as this would lead some to believe, especially when you consider Rivera and Downs as part of the equation.

Hunter going down and absolutely no depth.

I'm calling BS on the source of this cut and paste. Our other WRs are not walk-ons. We still have one of the best in Da'Rick and a 4 star Freshman and a 3 star Junior with game experience. Obviously not as strong as with Hunter but not terrible either.

This is just nonsense. Come on Rex you're better than that.

Chill out...wasn't talking about life or death was talking about posts on this board. I normally like your posts and clips but this one was just silly.
