I been hearing all week on the talk shows how bad it’s gonna be this Saturday, people not going to watch the game, is Kirby gonna run up the score......blah blah blah. They play the games for a reason, anything is possible....does it look grim on paper? yes but you only get so many opportunities to watch your team play a year. It’s Tennessee’s job to stop UGA from scoring not UGA! Go Vols!!!!!

You’re right. They do play the games for a reason. In this instance the reason for the game is because it was already scheduled and both teams are contractually obligated to show up barring any unforeseen circumstances.

This game is not being played because it will be fun (for Tennessee) or competitive.

I can only remember one or two games that we’ve won as an underdog since 2004. USCe in 2013 being one of those.

And I can think of nothing truly great we’ve done since then either.

We simply don’t ride up to greatness anymore, we just sink lower and lower into irrelevance.

It's the herd mentality. A few vocal posters said something at one point and it's continued ever since.
