Students Return 3000 tickets

5. Again as much as you tried to flame me you stereotyped me into being a dumbass. So Pot meet Kettle.
The quality and supporting logic of your posts show you to be a dumbass. That's not us stereotyping you. That's us taking the available evidence and making rational conclusions.

The student section doesn't suck. Look how loud they were (and the whole stadium for that matter) for UCLA. It's just hard to get up and get loud for every game when there isn't a lot of excitement or success on the field. And I can promise you that if tickets for students were "free", then there wouldn't be any tickets being returned. $20 is a lot for most students. I am also disappointed in tickets being returned, but you're seeing the cause and effect of charging for tickets.

Hat. I lost my scholly freshman year due to quality govermnet workers. My NAFTA paperwork was lost in the system and so I lost the hope. But good try.

I also do not want to take student loans due to the fact that I dont plan on being in debt once I get out of school.

Also My post are 10x's better then 80% of this forum. So no need to call me out on 1 fragmented sentence.

I dont really care to act like this place is a English 400 class. But next time volnation has a meeting I will recommend you to Grammar police. Heard it is a much needed position to be filled. Just cause it says Guru doesnt make you king of the world. Thanks though.

Its incredibly sad that biggest SEC home game of the year so far is having trouble selling out, and its the STUDENTS that arent stepping up to show support. The way things are going, NOONE can say we have a "great" fanbase anymore with a straight face. I know we didnt win much last year, but come on!! OSU has been embarrassed 3 years in a row in big bowl type games, but the Shoe would sell out if they were playing a damn high school and had went 0-12 the previous year.

On the 3000 tickets never bought, as stated earlier that was after the first round of ticket collection. I have had multiple friends buy them just today. There will be less then 1000 left over I believe.

Over the past 3 years, OSU finished the season in the top 10 (#1 twice) and has been to a BCS bowl every year. Unfortunately, that is not a fair comparison.

There weren't 3000 tickets left. The remaining "3000" came from the students who forgot to pay in time so their seats were moved and placed in the on demand list. I know countless people who then bought them because they forgot to buy them in time. Leave it to the press to make it think we students don't care.

Just so everyone sees this again. I know a lot of people who didn't pay on time.

That's exactly what I'm saying. More than half the student body doesn't give a damn about Tennessee football or any football for that matter. Bunch of GDI's.

From what I briefly just Googled I have to ask, are you actually saying non-frat Greeks, or GDIs, are incapable of being good fans or that frat boys are "better" fans?

pretty sure he is!

A lot of students are so liquored up when they get to the game, they have trouble making noise. It's better to mix the hard stuff after you get to the game!

I'm surprised at the outrage, really. A lot of the posters on this board said they would stay away from the games last year, until a coaching change was made. It worked. What's wrong with the students doing the same thing over the cost of tickets/pain in the rump it is to attain them?

looks like they pay almost $450 in school "fees" before they pay for tickets...

what does full-time, in-state cost per semester now?

in response to several posts:

you can still go to Tech or UTC and go to UT games. i decided a better engineering degree and $5 all you can drink non-football weekend nights and a 1:30 drive some saturdays to knoxville was worth it.

$20 is cheap for a big-time football school game. at least this way there won't be all those students who get their free tix and then not even show up. it is NOT a lot of money. hold off from buying a few dvds or a ps3 game and that's 3 games you can attend right there.

It is annoying trying to get tickets now. In years past I'd wake up on the day the tickets could be picked up and leave my student ID with a friend. When I got back from class I'd have my ticket and my ID back. A couple of times I had to go get tickets and all it took was gathering all the IDs and walking in and picking them up. And it was fun talking to the ticket ladies because if you were nice you might get better tickets.

I know this way isn't super hard or anything, but I can see how the older students could find the new inconvenient.

I'm not gonna read this whole thread. If the students aren't going to the game I say round them all up in a mandatory meeting and let Coach O have a heart to heart talk with them.

years past meaning when? in '01 they used the same method and it was still random. your place in line, or flirt-factor with the ticket ladies didn't mean jack.

did any of you actually read the article that this entire post is about? it doesn't say that there were 3000 tickets returned, it said there were 3000 left over from the 12000 that already been bought. take time to know what you're getting mad about.

This is dumb. Do you know how many students at big time football schools have to pay dearly for tickets? UT is one of the few places where getting a student ticket is easy and relatively cheap. At Penn State if you're a freshman or sophomore, you basically have to beg an upper classman to sell you tickets for the crappier games. And you know you're going to pay a lot. There is no excuse for this. I hope we pound Auburn early and make those students who decided not to go pound on the gates at half time to try and get in.
