I got I, i didnt even know that section was in the student section. oh well i know i'll be at every game and i know i'll be loud. what more do you want? atleast we sold out the remaining tickets to people who wanted them.

and really though, as a student, i dont mind paying $20. but for the fair weather people just going here to get and education i dont blame them for not wanting to spend $20.

Kiffin is trying to win, but he doesn't have the talent to do it this year. The average UT student is too ignorant to know that, however.

i know are talant isn't the best, but the ucla game probably let everybody know that this season is a wash. we are not getting any better which means less people at games. like i said before in my opinion which many disagree with which is cool, but when lane failed to change anything up in the ucla game and basically said this is the way it is going to be the rest of the year it sent the wrong signal. then the ohio game just confirmed it.

I don't get it. It always makes me angry when I see or hear people not care about football. If you don't care, why did you even come to UT? Go to Tech or UTC or something. I actually got great tickets for this game. I can't understand why you can't pay $20 to come and support your team. The only thing I can think of is that the new system is too confusing to them and they are too lazy to figure it out.

While that is true, I think another reason may be the new ticketing system. You have 2 days to request tickets. I think its Wednesday and Thursday the week before the game. Students had to request tickets for this game last week. Then there is a 3 or 4 day period where you can buy the tickets. I havent had a problem yet, but alot of my friends who are tryin to focus on tests and get alot done in a short amount of time simply forget to buy the tickets, not necessarily request them. Once you pass the opprotunity to buy a ticket during the Claim period you arent allowed to buy until the tickets go on sale to the public. I dont think everyone who doesnt go to the game or buy a ticket is lazy, just may be overwhelmed with school work and simply just forget about going online to buy the ticket or get confused that they have one after requesting it.

I just don't buy this argument.

I know what you mean man, I came here to get an education, but its about 50/50 education and football because I grew up loving the Vols. And I came out of state, I didnt get to go to a ton of games growing up so I take advantage of every opportunity I get to go to Neyland on a Saturday. I'll be there whether we are winning or losing. $20 sucks when I'm already paying alot of money to go here, but I'll pay it to support the Vols.

Yea, that Florida game was just plain embarrassing too.

I've been at UT a while now, and it's pretty sad how little support there is among students for any of the athletic teams. People are more interested in getting wasted and chasing skirts than going to football or basketball games.

Not to be overly cynical, but this is exactly what Hamilton wants to happen. Another year or two of students not picking up their full allotment for most games will give the athletic department justification to reduce the total number student tickets available. Those former student tickets (likely the lower deck mid field sections) will then become available as season tickets requiring donations of several thousand dollars a year.

So you are saying that we should choose the college we wanted to go to based on the football program? This has to be one of the most idiotic posts I have ever read. And yes, I have attended every football game since I have been at UTK.

we were able to multi-task and do all of that. And they say the student body is getting smarter :whatever:

True. The frats and sororities will show up 5 mins before kickoff. All wasted not even knowing whats going on. Girls are puking and having to leave, and everyone else leaves in the 3rd quarter because their buzz wore off and they need to have another drink.

Its pitiful

I'm hoping some of the 20,000 plus students at UT chose UT for something other than six saturdays a year.

And if out future doctors, lawyers, teachers and business leaders are too confused at how to get football tickets, that's sucks for the future of our country.

I think all he is saying is that here at UT, football is kind of a big deal. One of the perks of going to UT is being able to enjoy the games, atmosphere, and everything that goes with it. I think his suggestion that students should choose UT based only on the football program is hyperbole.

So you think the UTAD would rather sell a ticket to a student for $20 than to season ticket holder for $50 plus a $5k annual donation?
I think moving the student section away from the field is senseless. I don't think Hamilton is going that way in the least. In fact, I'm reasonably certain.
