I am an incoming graduate student --and life-long vol fan. I want to go to the football games, but I also want to take my girlfriend. Is their anyway she can get /use a student ticket? I am assuming that there isn't. But if anyone has any creative solutions, feel free to offer.

You can get 1 guest ticket, well that was the way it was last year, for face value. Then your gf can sit next to you in the student section

You can also use a female friends ID if she looks similar to your gf. I've had success with that before.

yep .. she can get a ticket for much less than face from scalpers on the street ... prolly have to pay a little more for the big games ... but still less than face value

you can actually buy your girlfriend a guest volcard which is the student ID. then she gets student priced football tickets and gets in free to all other sports.. it tells more about it if you go to uttix.com and sign in as a student with the same username and password as you would on tmail..

get a girl whose not going to the game, reserve a ticket, pay her the 10 bucks and let your GF use her volcard to get in. Plenty of empty seats in the student section. Atleast you'll keep old people from moving down to the vacant seats in the student section then complaining about vulgar language and alcohol consumption.

Someone older who had moved down to the student section told me I smelled like whiskey, and I told him if he was jealous all he had to do was ask and offered him my cup. He looked at me for a second with an annoyed scowl... and then took a big swig from my cup. Vols went on to destroy Georgia, me and my old buddy got along just fine.

True story.

I like sitting in the student section every now and then near some crazy drunk sorority chicks---they eventually like to sit on your lap---which is OK with me.

True... we had to camp out for days just to get Florida tickets back in 97-02. I remember I got standing room only tickets one year. I didn't even know they gave those out :)

UT students can get up to 2 guests passes for every home game and 1 guest pass for every away game. That's how it was last year, it may change this year. They haven't said anything to us about student tickets.

Your right my bad. Also what seats you get are based on your hours at school.

Ughhh....what does that mean? So, if you take 5 classes a semester, you get better seats than someone who only takes 3?

While the program is down, UT's athletic dept. people should be giving away student tickets for free to juice up attendance.

It's based on a point system where those with the most hours completed (i.e., grad students and seniors) start with the most points, and students get more points by going to games. Those with the most points have the best chance at getting the best seats.

I think more like if you have 45 hours under your belt you get better seats than a freshman who has 20 something. Not sure that's actually how it works but I think that was what he was saying..
