Another thing would be the size of TBA. Many other SEC schools have a smaller gym, and of course not as many seats. Those student sections are filled up a majority of the time, but also because there aren't as many seats for the students. One thing that makes the student attendance look smaller is because of the other sections the students can sit in. They let us students sit in sections 123-126, so many students would rather sit there and maybe have a better view than standing in the student section.

When TN is on offense as the shot clock is running out, the students don't count down to help out. The crowd just starts screaming at the guy with the ball to shoot.

I think with addition of the SEC Network and every game being televised has a lot to do with declining attendence across the SEC. With a campus of 25,000+ there should be no reason that the student section isn't filled up.

TBA was once a feared place to play, now it's no where near as intimidating.

28,000 students. If I remember correctly, student are allotted 4,500 seats.

Guys we can overanalyze the situation all we want but bottom line is we need to win more and then more people will show up.

Barnes doesn't care to promote the program nor to try to encourage the students to attend. In addition, the Vols won't be making the NCAAT and there has not been that much to cheer about frankly. I dont blame the students at all.

There's been plenty to cheer about. Except for band wagon fans.

If the players want more students to show up then they need to do a better job at showing up. Last night's turd in the punch bowl loss just adds more fuel to the fire for students to stay away. Don't blame the fans or students for lower attendance. The team needs to stop laying eggs at home against winnable teams.

Attendance goes with expectations. Look for much better attendance next year. Students have a lot of options for wasting their time.
When I was a student bb wasn't on my radar. A friend had a ticket so I went. UT beat saints John's in stokley. Howard Woods, Dale Ellis and Brooks raining what would be 3s today. I was hooked. I went to game expecting wins.
