Strongest & Fastest

While not on campus yet C Patterson and Q Watson are easily faster than anyone else currently on the roster. (As a matter of comparison both have gone well under Chris Rainey's best 100m)

The guy probably most underrated in this is probably D Young. For instance, Young has posted faster times than Hunter, Zach Rogers or R Neal. In fact for the 2012 track season Young posted the 2nd best 60m on the squad.

Fastest on the team: Justin Hunter
Rb: R. Neal
TE: Brendan Downs
LB: Curt Maggit, J.Smith, or J.Williams
DB: Justin Coleman
DL: depends on the 4-3 or 3-4 scheme
OL: ????

i think watson is faster than neal and i think meredith is faster than downs, he was (according to espn) the second fastest TE in the nation last year if i remember correctly. fastest on the whole team- wouldnt that be gray? wasnt he supposed to be an absolute speed demon in highschool?

now heres a real question who would be the fastest and strongest coach? the strength coach is auto DQ btw due to unfair advantage.

Jacque McGlemdon is the strongest vol ever.. Holds all records 645 bench

I remember the video of him breaking the bench press record. He couldve smashed it but johnny long ( i think) would not let him put anymore weight on the bar.

Hahaha, what? Baffling.

What's confusing you? I would have thought Chris Rainey was a name most would recognize and associate with being quite fast. (which he is) I was pointing out that we have two guys coming in that have gone under his best 100m time.

Dools said Tiny was the 2nd strongest player on the team the day he arrived in Knoxville. I would imagine that he's now #1 after a year in the program.

? Can you cite a reference for that?

Based on his track results, CP isn't faster than JH.

But I thought the "realists" here assured us he was definitely not an SEC caliber player?

The fastest times I'm aware of for JH in the 100m/200m are 10.99/21.62. CP's are 10.33/21.19.

I'm pretty sure CP's 10.33 was significantly wind-aided as that's a good bit faster than the norm but he still has numerous times in 10.5-10.6 range.

Don't get me wrong. I hope CP is great. But the last "great" JUCO WR I remember coming to UT with superhuman speed... was Kenny O'Neal.

Neal definitely was but with Watson here and Pig getting a shot at RB then hes probably not the fastest RB anymore. Truely a shame with his size and speed that Neal cannot hold onto the ball. If he could then he could really be a great weapon at RB for us. Still believe Lane is the best overall RB we have once he learns to trust his knee 100%

.....but can CP Hurdle would be tacklers?

Hes so fast, his hands cant catch up

ZR does get his hands up; they just don't always close around the ball. Your raising the topic of WRs getting their hands up in time to catch the ball brings back memories of WRs who actually did not get their hands up in time. That went on for a few years, as I recall. Think those were the Ainge days. Hannon was good on some plays, but I've seen that guy flat-out not get his hands up. And he wasn't the only WR failing that way.
