You're joking right? All reports are that Brown is a good student and busts his tail in practice. He only came to UT because of Kiffin. When the staff that lured him here bolted for the left coast he was left high and dry. The new coach should have talked things out with him instead of trying to be a tough guy and making brash statements about how he wasn't going to recruit kids who were already here.
It's about putting the best team on the field. If Bryce were a thug, it would be a different story, but if Dooley thinks he can recruit and win by treating every kid the same way, he has a lot to learn. Coaches have to know who to scream at and who to coddle. This isn't 1950. It's a different world, not necessarily a better world, but the genie is out of the bottle, and there is no use complaining about it. The sooner Dooley climbs down off his high horse and realizes it the better.
In many ways Dooley is far more arrogant than Kiffin. If you know anyone who has worked with or for both of them, just ask. He acts like he knows everything. Micromanages everyone around him. Won't listen to anything anyone says, even though they may have been in their position for twenty or more years and are just drawing on their personal experience. Long story short, I think Dooley will be gone in three years if he doesn't work on his haughty off-putting personality.
Player after player talks about how Saban is a different guy once you get to know him, that the cursing, ranting and raving perfectionist on the sideline is not who he really is off the field. To hear his players talk, Saban is something of a players' coach. Dooley seems to have only emulated one side of his mentor. He brings the discipline but not the genuine concern for his athletes or his employees... from the guy who washes helmets to a five star tailback who just needed a pep talk.
Two posts in two years and this is all you got?Just look at John Calipari. It may not be the way things SHOULD BE, but it's the way they ARE. Brown committed to Kiffin. He was jilted when Kiffin left. If Brown had the character of Janzen Jackson, your point about Dooley upholding the integrity of the institution would have merit. But Dooley didn't accomplish anything positive by being too stubborn to check on Bryce Brown.
Actually, OP, your post is a failure. If BB wanted to be apart of the team, then BB should have steppd up and showed some desire. My God, I could continue forever, but your post is ridiculous and lacking intelligence! I just don't have the energy to state the obvious...
I have not said that.
lets be honest.
BB was a high profile recruit with alot of talent. likeit or not. He was promised alot by the previous staff, that left! I am sure he was worried about the new staff and their direction, he was recovering from injuries, so he went home to think about his options, but before he left, he had the corteousy to tell his new coach that he is thinking about not coming back and wanted to rethink his options. DD dont like that, says fine. And then reports BB is no longer part of the team. Spring practice rolls around,bb dont show, still thinking about his options and getting healthy. Just before fall camp starts he comes back, DD still pi$$ed that he wasnt there for other team activities still tells press only that BB is not part of the team, and then dont even take the time to go talk to him after he came all the way down from kansas to talk to him, and basically treats him like ill get to ya when i get to ya. I would have told him get bent, and left too. and so would most of you on here that are bashing my opinion. what scares me is the fact that i am the only one expressing this and higher expectations, which is exactly why we had a guy at head coach ten years past his prime.
You gotta read the whole thread. Everyone from unrealistic posivols to negavols flamed him. It was a great example of fanbase unity
but in this situation "maybe" he did all he could do. However here is food for thought, he takes Nance to get DaRick, is it not inconsistent to consider Bryce's brother Authur on the same grounds??????
Both situations are very different. There was actual interest from CJC with nancebut in this situation "maybe" he did all he could do. However here is food for thought, he takes Nance to get DaRick, is it not inconsistent to consider Bryce's brother Authur on the same grounds??????

Not a good point as we need a backup QB and one that will pan out nicely for us. True, he may never start but he is a good guy. Arthur on the other hand has quit a program and is obviously like BB. Both together would be a mistake on top of having to deal with the father. I can honestly see making that decision over the other. Two separate cases based on needs.

Go pull for Bama or Florida. They are so great. PLEASE! We don't need your kind on our side. Either support the team by supporting the coach or go pull for Vandy.
