WR- Strength: talent and experience, Weakness: the talented guys don't have experience and the experienced guys aren't as talented

OL- Strength: reportedly great size and athleticism, Weakness: NO experience whatsoever and no one really knows the true level of raw talent

RB- Strength: good blend of talent, Weakness: No experience or proven producers

TE- Strength: Stocker will be one of the best in the country, Weakness: there's no one behind him

LB- Strength: Only deep group on the team, experienced quality players Weakness: no particular standouts at this point, no one with experience is the caliber or someone like Mayo

DB- Strength: deep talent pool Weakness: very little experience, questionable at CB

DE- Strength: deep enough, great speed, proven producers Weakness: small

DT- Strength: Walls/Hughes have as much talent as any pair UT has had at DT in a long time, Weakness: there's no one else.

Didn't realize people thought we were looking so tough at DT. Good to hear. Stopping the run can keep weaker teams hanging around and make them dangerous.

Until someone proves themselves, the QB is our weakest link atm. Entire offense goes through him. It doesn't matter how good our RBs, WRs, and TEs should be if the QB is bad. OL is a close second since there are no returning starters.

Weakness: Lack of experience at the O-line and QB position.

Weakness: Lack of depth at DT, we may have some talent at the two starting positions but as far as DT's go they are somewhere between mediocre and slightly better than average SEC players.

Weakness: One of our best (if not best) linebackers was a walk on who is coming back from a serious injury....enough said.

Weakness: Very little proven talent at the DB position.

Strength: I'm not trying to be an arse about it but there is very little I can call strengths for this team. I will say there is some young unproven talent that could step up and be solid producers for this team, especially on defense. I think we look pretty good at TE for this year. WR corp could be one of our biggest strengths, this will depend heavily on our O-line and QB's though so I will not count it as a strength yet.

I personally think we are in for a long year.

Strengths: plentiful parking?

I hope we represent better than we have recently but I think between the product on the field and economic factors empty seats are likely for the next year or two.

I just don't see secondary as a strength this year. With the exception of Janzen and possibly Waggner I see very little experience and or talent. Even Janzen has a lot to prove with no Berry around IMO. We know he hits hard but can he be the total package we need him to be?

Strength's from my perspective...

WR, TE, FB, RB....The QB that wins will be pretty accurate and on time, that is what Chaney is really looking for so all the QB needs is a little time to get the play off...I think with what I saw from the Struggling O-Line we had last year, that I am not really worried about Chaney and Heistand getting these guys ready to play!
If the O-Line have athletic ability like I keep reading then these coaches can teach them to block!

Our Defense is going to be ok...I know Nick Reviez and Frazior had Knee injuries but they will be back. Thompson will be a stud...Plus moving Johnson back to LB where he is most comfortable. Herman Lathers played pretty well last year...NMT is really fast and is going to be a get after it type LB..Greg King should bounce back from his little knee bang up he had..and we have more depth this year at that position. With Lance Thompson I believe this will be the strength of the Defense!

D-Line will be tough on the outside and if Montori Hughes and Walls step up we should have a really strong 1st Unit D-Line

Secondary....Jackson and MIles will be a great tandum together...Then you got Art Evans and hopefully Gordon gets his shot at Corner, with Clark,M.Johnson,Waggner,Lofton,Wilks,A. Anderson...Should be a battle.

Well.............after reading some of these posts you would think we'll be lucky to beat Tennessee-Martin, UAB, and Memphis to finish 3-9.

I think our Defense will keep us in games as they always do.....I think we have a much better "D" Coordinator in Wilcox now especially to scheme against the spread type wildcat direct snap gadget offenses that seemed to confuse the geriatic diaper poopin' so called "D" Guru from last season. Said geriatic diaper poopin' D coach got exposed so often trying to slow it down last season and then Ole Miss realized just do it the whole game and the blow out began. Wilcox with 2-3* talent was able to keep Boise St. in games against much greater athletic teams as well as even shut them down (Oregon comes to mind).

Our offense will struggle do to the O-Line of course but as some of these freshman WR's start getting implemented into the gameplans I think it will for sure help us run the ball more effectively with the bulls we have in the stable at RB. We finally have some game breakers on our team.....homerun deep threats that we haven't had.....that will losen up alot of things for us on offense IMO.

Let Simms be the starter....he has competed at a much higher level in high school....is a legit Div. I QB that opted to go Juco because of the situation at Louisville.....and from the Juco experience has more game speed reps and mental focus than Stephens IMO....Stephens physically is better but mentally has the Crompton-esque lock onto one guy complex.

Bray will get the time he needs to better learn the system, further develop his awesome skill set, and gain a few more pounds.

And like Gump would say...."That's all I've got to say about that."

I am pretty pessimistic but even I would view 3-9 as an abject failure.

Strength and weakness are relative terms. Compared to past Vol teams, I stand by my post. Compared to those teams and Vandy... UT has alot more strengths.
