forget the press conference, best thing I've heard is from the UR backup QB who said that Clawson is standoffish with players so he can maintain discipline and expects perfection from his QB.
Very Herman Boone-ish if you will. "you make sure they remember - forever - the night they played the Titans!"
I like them. I'm not as worked up over press conference coach-speak as I am what their former players say they're about. Sounds like Clawson will offset CPF's lack of discipline and accountability and we need that badly. That alone makes is a great hire by CPF. Hiring strength that offsets his own weakness has not been his MO in the past. You like these guys, right, BPV?
All three seem like great hires. New blood. Great communicators. Excellent attitudes. Well-versed across offensive schemes.

I don't really think it matters where it comes from, just that it does.Good discipline-oriented coaches do help CPF, but when it comes from the players side (e.g. Al Wilson) that's what really makes the Vols lethal. Eric Berry may be that guy next season eventhough he's just a sophomore. We can't wait for his senior year for him to take a leadership role. He may decide to go to the league before then.
This is a really exciting time in UT football. For the first time in a while...a long while, we're going to see fresh faces on the sidelines with fresh ideas for the future. Take note you guys... this may never happen again. I've been watching since I was a kid and it's really the first time I can remember so many new faces at once.
new era's a bit strong, given that we still have CPF and Chavis. Expecting drastic change is still probably somewhat of a stretch. Changes will likely we subtle, but positive and we will hopefully lose some of our situational predictability.Absolutely true! Biggest turnover in staff and offensive philosophy since Majors that I can remember.
It is a new era, indeed!

Expecting Fulmer to change that drastically is just tough to see. He's entrenched in who he is, what he believes and it has been successful in the past. The easy part was stepping out of his cast in the offseason. When the helmets are strapped on, it's an entirely different beast. 3rd and 7 with a 3 point lead in the 4th quarter is still 3rd and 7.......I beleive Fulmer will give them the freedom so many want them to have.
