Yeah, I just can't feel good about this one. I wanted it more than playoffs. I grt tired of hearing about our programs ineptitude that has led to the 3 teams above having long win streaks and all-time winning records against Tennessee. Prior to the 2008-2020 BS, Tennessee had winning records all-time against Florida and Georgia.

This was our chance to end another embracing steak... now we will just hear about 9 straight.

It has been hard. Why did our program have to be such a garbage heap for so long?

Greed and incompetence. Sports is a waste of time and money anymore. I've had 35 years of this and enough is enough time to find other things to do on Saturdays.

Since 2000, if my math is correct against our biggest rivals we are:

5-21 UGA

6-19 UF
7-18 Bama

Let's see which column we add to on the pending two games this year.

Thanks. Crazy that our best record is against Alabama. Florida is the one that stands out. We should have beaten them in 2002, 2014, 2015, and 2023 IMO. 4 losses we left on the table.

People talk about it regularly, Tennessee just struggles against these teams.

We should beat Florida and Alabama. Florida is awful and we should score at will against bama defense
I’d pump the brakes a bit on “should beat Alabama.”

It’s in Tuscaloosa and DeBoer, for all his faults, hasn’t lost at home yet since taking the job. We will not be favored. This is the first time in forever that I feel like going to Tuscaloosa isn’t an auto-loss, but it’ll still take an A game or near one to have a real shot at winning.

What’s the rest of the SEC teams record vs UGA and Alabama. There’s a reason those teams won multiple championships.
UGA has 2 wins against Bama since Saban took over, and one of those was in year 1. Florida also has 1 against Bama and it came in 2008.

So it's not just us.

Bama is gonna have to massively improve their defense. And Ty Simpson still seems mediocre, imo.

ESPN was talking about it on Gameday! That isn't other people's message board.
It stinks our rivals excelled when we were lost in the wilderness. But whether that hurts or is embarrassing is up to you. You are in charge of your emotions. Streaks will come our way again. They are cyclical...except for UK and UF. Those are inexplicable.

Florida will have mailed in the season by the time we go there. They could easily come into the game with 7 losses already.
My only concern is that they fire Billy after the Ole Miss game, then an interim gets the team fired up to play to its maximum potential for the next game--us--and then they immediately come back down to earth again the next week vs FSU.

Instead of the backup QB beating us, it would be the backup head coach.

Not sure but I don't hear stuff like these teams have lost 9 straight or 16 straight, etc.
Granted it’s Vandy, but last night they beat SC for the first time in 16 years.

Just a few years ago Kentucky beat Florida for the first time in 26 years.

All teams have losing streaks against opponents. Some just worse than others, and they stand out more when it is a team you are invested in.
