Dooley: Dallas Baker’s slap part of Florida, Tennessee football lore | Gainesville.com

With all of the talk this week about the Gators’ 10-game winning streak over the Vols, nobody is enjoying it more than the guy who was partly responsible for the last Tennessee win in the series. Because he’s also the guy who played a big hand in what was arguably the biggest of those 10 straight wins.

“It’s hard to believe that’s the last time they’ve beaten us,” Baker said.

But it is.

The “Dallas Baker Curse” is still alive. On Saturday, we find out if it’s still breathing.

I don't think the streak is karma for the result of the 2004 game.

I think the result of the 2004 game is karma for the result of the 2000 game.

So I don't feel "guilty" in the slightest for winning that game on a questionable call.

While we are talking about curses what about the curse of the backup QB. Also known as "the Curse of Rohan Davey."

Watched him play for Pitt and he actually looks pretty good. His entire Tennessee career tape could be set to circus music
He was 20-29 for 219 yards, and threw a 19 yard td pass on 4th and 15 to tie last week's game with less than a minute and a half remaining. Iowa kicked a 57 yard fg to win at the buzzer. Peterman's qb efficiency rating was 147.7 .

They had the best team 8 or 9 times out of those 10 years, now this year we are on par with them with the talent, we are a 1 and half point dog so in other words coin flip game, so now no more excuses this game could come down to coaching, so either way it goes we will know what we got by Sunday, no more excuses, this will be remember as the NO MORE EXCUSES GAME, if they beat us because they are better, then i can deal with it, i just dont wont to wake up Sunday and see HEADLINES IN PAPER VOLS BLOW 14 POINT LEAD IN 4TH QUARTER, if they beat us in a hard fought game 21-17 then i can say we played our heart out and left it all on the field, then OK dont have to like it but i can deal with a defeat.

I was watching Pitt the first week of the season, can't recall who they were playing. It had slipped my mind that he transferred there, so when the qb threw this beautiful ball about 30 yards down field for a td, and the guy calling the game said his name I almost shat myself. I couldn't believe such a nice pass came from him. Oh well, good for him, I'm sure it wasn't his intention to play poorly while he was at UT, glad he is doing well at Pitt.

I will always remember Mark May saying "It's Dallas Baker the touchdown maker!" In his sissy sounding voice. That's the only thing i remember about Dallas Baker. I don't see how Florida had so many athletes some even getting drafted into the NFL without hardly playing a single down in college and yet they all fail so miserably at the NFL level. With the exception of Emmitt of course...

ESPN had his QBR at 57.2

either way I'm surprised that it wasn't in the negative. So hats off to him!:hi:
