Storming the Field

UT students/fans should NEVER storm the field. Good Lord. We may have sucked for 20 years, but we're not South Carolina. Have some damn pride. Its embarrassing and dont give the other team the satisfaction.

Well, we just beat Florida five years ago. The last time that we beat Alabama I was on the second year of my Marine Corps enlistment, single, and living in an apartment. Since then I’ve gotten married, had three children, and owned two homes at different times.

My point being, it’s been a long damn time since we’ve knocked off Alabama. If you’re going to storm the field, Alabama would be the correct time.

Rain and storm them all.Pay the silly ass fine and enjoy ourselves. They say you can't;just do it.Better to apologize later than regret not doing anything.

We aren’t beating Bama. More likely to beat Florida though and we have seen only one win over them since 2005 so let the fans storm the field heck I might storm the field. This is will be the fourth Florida game in Neyland I have been too and we have won every time in those games, 1990, 2004 and 2016 hoping for the same outcome this year.

Bama (undisputed #1 team in the country and favorite to win the 2022 national championship 🤮), it would happen and would be justified.

Florida (likely 7-8 win team in 2022), it didn’t happen in 2016 and won’t happen in 2022.

Agreed. Also, let's also avoid the SEC fines for storming the field- $50k 1st offense, $100k 2nd offense, $250k 3rd offense. UTAD can better use this money for our program, rather than giving it to the SEC.

Heaven forbid we as Tennessee fans not enjoy a huge victory that we have not had in a VERY long time. For those that say “NO” and “let’s act like we have been here before,” think that the field will not be stormed when we beat Alabama are clearly not thinking correctly and deep down they know that if they are present at the game they will be standing on the 50yd line partying with the the rest.
Exactly, for the ppl that say we’ve been here before.. y’all do know that some of us ut fans haven’t been there before. I myself started watching back in 06. I’m going be at the Florida and Alabama And you best believe I’ll be one of the folks to run on the field.
Cmon guys that would be a huge win for this team and could be the game that goes down as the one were Tennessee, the sleeping giant in the sec finally woke up and we should celebrate and let’s the whole world know we’re back!!

If we lose…I’m bringing mustard bottles just in case that scenario happens too.! 😂😂

My gut reaction was in line with yours.

But then I got thinking of the younger Vols fans, like my nephew, who have never seen us beat Bama, have never seen us win a championship, have never seen us dominating the SEC.

They kind of deserve this thrill. It is pretty cool running out on the field and celebrating with the lads and your fellow fans. They should have a chance to experience it once.

So now I say: if we beat Bama this year, storm the field. Have a blast!

Once that's done with, we can get back to "acting like we've been there before."

Go Vols!

Lolz, I bet you have a picture of the 1998 storming of Florida as your screensaver.

Florida is gonna be 1-2 with losses to Utah and Kentucky when they come into Neyland. Seems pointless to storm the field when you beat a team that uk just beat. Bama on the other hand? Storm the field and tote those goal posts all over town and ride them down the river!

We just beat UF in 2016 -- in spectacular fashion, after 12 straight losses. No one stormed the field, thankfully, and certainly should not if we happen to beat their Univ. of Louisiana coach in his 1st year.

Embarrassing just to consider.
I'm glad I read your last statement here.

When I opened the thread I had already made up my mind that I was against storming the field period, for any victory. Gatersuck Larry's post explained why I feel that way.

But after reading the thread up to this point, I've changed my mind.

Larry said it's the show of ultimate respect to the opponent. That's what I thought, but now I think I don't give a rats ass what they or anyone else thinks. I mean really, WGAF? and it changes nothing.

And your statement. I agree 100% and that's my final opinion. To plan it is stupid. If it happens it happens. Enjoy the win and get ready for the next game.

I'd never storm the field because my old ass would see it as the perfect opportunity for a quick exit.

"Blue Bloods" don't storm fields. Leave that to the wanna-bee's.

AAMOF... I WAS there. And had just as much fun celebrating with my brethren in the stands as those dumbasses tearing our own goalposts down. Ridiculous.

I will add a caveat to my original statement.

Depending on the finish, like some miraculous circumstances, (I’m thinking Auburn’s kick six, or something similar), then I can see the field being stormed in a whirlwind of emotion. And that I think would be acceptable.

But, for Bama only at this point. Not Billy freaking Napier.

If we were to beat Bama, just a guess on my part, the UT administration would welcome the storm. People are intitled to their opinion, but yes, assuming I'm agile enough to jump, I'm going. lol, the rest of you can sit in the stands and take pictures.
