should we storm the field when we beat Florida.

Things certainly are down for UT if we storm the field as a ranked team for just a win over Florida.

If florida had a top ten team I might say yes. Alabama oh yeh if we take them off their lofty perch, dang skippy take the field!

I hope they have every one of these confident posts about the coming tail whipping posted all over their locker room... So when it happens they can go back and have to say 'they were right'

Go Vols

something everyone needs to keep in mind is that the people who are 26 and older actually went to school during and/or witnessed games that were WORTH storming the field

Not sure I ever was at a football game worth storming, but I have been to plenty of basketball games that deserved it

I stormed it in 98 as a student, still have the plug of dead grass and the ticket stub. One of the best of my college days for sure.
I thought the storming had more to do with the way the game was won, last second in OT on a missed FG....And also that we arguably should have won some of the 7 prior years with Peyton and others..

I dont think this game warrants a storming but I wouldnt be embarrassed if we did, and I hope the popo uses restraint and would let young fans enjoy the moment..

Like it or not, if we win this game (especially if we win a close one) the field WILL get rushed. 20 years of getting beat, 7 straight losses. It's happening. Might as well suck it up and enjoy it.

Storming the field = cool

Talking about storming it before the game is won = jinx

friend who works for UT Police said they wont do anything about it if a bunch of students rush. Once they breach the endzones he said its pretty much a free for all. UTPD is just trying to scare everyone off. They had a huge meeting about it the other day.

Because they realize how little control they have over a stadium with 100k+

I'm thinking "goalpost-ing" is for 30-point underdogs beating a No. 1 ranked opponent who has here-to-fore slaughtered your team for the last 20-something years, or for a team on a 40-game, multi-year losing streak finally winning.

As for storming the field, I'm cool with a few students doing it, but hopefully the majority act like we should have won and proceed to heartily celebrate as they make their way to post-game destinations :).

AND, speaking of heartily, you in attendance (I'm talking during the game now) better be the most raucous, loud crowd in the history of college football! PLEASE don't stop just because UF gets a 1st down or some points!! Wish I could be there :-(

unless you want to get arrested. I know that arresting thousands of people is literally impossible; however, I did just hear on the radio that Knoxville Police have issued a warning to anyone storming the field after the game, that you will be arrested and charged with aggravated criminal trespassing. Additionally, they said that anyone caught urging others to storm the field will also be arrested and charged with "enticing a riot." TIFWIW.
