Didn't realize they are fielding the same team as those teams in the past.

Besides who are these inferior opponents the last several years? If anything we were the inferior opponent. This is the first year since Dooley has been here that we are starting more upperclassmen than underclassmen.

Some fans or students storming the field would not be the most embarrassing thing that could happen Saturday...

Should they storm and you end up mortified take solice that we beat FL.

Anyone who thinks an under .500 team is superior in any situation is an unmitigated homer or is smoking crack.

So what's your criteria for a team to be inferior? Vegas odds? Because I watched the Ole Miss game, and saw anything but an inferior team that ran roughshot all over Monte Kiffin's defense. That game alone made Dexter McCluster millions of dollars on the next level.

There's a pretty good sized Facebook group going around about storming the field. Although I don't necessarily agree with it, I think it will happen, especially if we win on a last-second play.

I dont care what anybody thinks. Should do it, Should not do it. All I know is I will be 10 rows off the field and if the crowd in front of me goes after we win, I will be right behind them. Not about what yall think on here, the players would love it and our moral could use it. GBO!!

So as soon as you are under .500, you can't be compared to any other sub .500 teams? You're just being an idiot.

And because Ole Piss outplayed us, they were the superior team? So by that logic, an inferior team has NEVER lost at any sport, ever. Great talk. As always, you're very wise.

Florida game NO Keep going like we done this before. The Florida game when fans stormed the field. People made fun of the fans, yes we ended up National Champs, but no. Bamma, Hell yea they ranked would be the upset of the year.

I was there in 98 when the goal posts came down and was 19 at the time. I can understand completely why stduents and other fans that age would want to. Once in a lifetime experience, that was.

Having said that, storming the field is old hat. Plus, it costs the school quite a bit in penalties.

Of course, this is a great conversation to have AFTER we actually win the game...

Forget acting like we've been there before. We haven't been there the whole time I've been a Vol Fan, or the whole time I've been a student here (I'm in grad school now). I want to enjoy the feeling atleast once of storming the field. If you older fans don't want to do it, that's your choice. Don't ruin the chance to enjoy an the possibility of an incredible memory that will last a lifetime just because we "need to act like we've been there before." That's stupid.

If fans want to run on the field for the Florida game, I'll join in. If they want to do it for the Bama game, I'll join in. All of those that don't want to join can look down upon us with distaste from the stands while we have fun. I don't care. Go Vols.

For those that are in favor of storming the field, what is your main reason for doing it? What is creating the need?

A lot of people (me included) see fans storming the field as a celebration of something unexpected. Most people on here, as well in the media, AND Vegas has Tennessee favored to win. So beating UF isn't unexpected.

If everyone starts storming the field, I will be right with them.

If we win, and no one storms the field. Oh well, we still won.

It's a win - win, IMO. Now, if we lose ...

7 years of losing to Florida in general.
4+ years of underperforming in the SEC.
4 years of frustration, coaching changes, drama.
Winning this game has a lot more connotations than just beating Florida for a lot of people.

I have no opinion on the matter, but if you think that the keyboard pounders on this website have even an ounce of influence on what the students would do, you're sadly mistaken.
