I'm saying you NEVER storm the field regardless of the season.

Let me know when any program that is elite right now storms the field when they beat a rival. You want to be Bama, USC, LSU, Oklahoma, but then do things they do at Wake Forest or Kentucky when you beat a team?

UT talks tradition and all that.............act like it. Be better than those programs who storm the field.

I don't get why storming the field gets such a bad rep. It's a lot of fun for the fans. It gets recruits excited. It energizes the fan base and the players.

The only negative I see is that the university has to dish out the cash for the fine.

From late '94 to '97, Tennessee was solidly the second best team in the SEC and a top 10 program nationally. Certainly not a second-tier program, and we stormed that b---- with impunity when Florida missed the field goal in '98.

Coming into this year's Florida game, our losing streak against them is longer and our position on the CFB totem pole is lower.

I don't remember anyone in the CFB nation losing respect for us when the goalposts came down 12 years ago, so why the paranoia about how we appear to others now?

My brother remarked a couple of years back that he didn't know what bothered him more; the Vols lossing to teams they shouldn't lose to or it becoming so common that those teams no longer stormed the field.

That said I wouldn't get the cart before the horse. Let the Vols win a big one and then just let the moment take care of itself.

There were Bama fans on the field after Mt. Cody "tit blocked" the FG and beat us in 2009. They didn't rip down the goal posts but it wasn't another day at the office win for 'em either.:eek:lol:

Past UT players are all tweeting to NOT rush the field and that we are TENNESSEE! Take a clue from the past greats! Do NOT rush the field after beating a down FL team. Bama yeah go ahead.

1st off I've never stormed a field nor do I think I ever will. 2nd I dont want to be usc, lsu, oklahoma, and certainley not bama. All I want to see is my Vols beat the cr@p out of fl this week. If some fans want to celebrate by storming the field I say let em.

No, do not storm the field. Act like a university that has won more games than any other school since 1926. Act like We ARE Tennessee!!! Act like we are back, and this win isn't a fluke. Storming the filed is ULM beating Arkansas, App St beating Michigan, etc. Storming the field is reserved for upsets. This win will be no upset, it's OUR DESTINY.

For all of you who are saying "act like we've been there before"...we have been there before, and we stormed the field...

No one person on this board is going to determine whether or not the field is stormed. It's either gonna happen, or it's not, and *****ing about it on a message board is just kinda ridiculous, especially now, considering that the season has started that we have so much else to discuss, including the fact that we are ranked again after 4 years.
