Storm Shelters

I've actually been reading some plans on how to build a blast shelter. It doubles as a storm shelter. Maybe you need to consider the chance of a nuclear holocaust as well as tornadoes.

I too have been looking into that as well. Are the ones your looking at completely underground?

Yeah, here's the thing about a blast shelter. 1) If a nuclear strike ever does occur, you have a better shot at being safe, 2) It can be used for other emergencies....you've gotta think if the thing can keep you safe from nuclear weapons, it would be able to keep you safe from almost anything imaginable.

Here are some sites I've been looking @:

I grew up hearing "Chattanooga will never have a tornado, it can't jump the mountain. But if one ever does...." Well, yeah, they can jump mountains. LOL

I don't recall a tornado hitting Chattanooga in the recent past...... I know one hit Cleveland several years ago, right?.....

The last one I remember here is 2004. The first one I ever remember here is 1995. None of them have been really bad. Certainly nothing to compare to what some people have to deal with when a tornado hits.
