Stop your whining

With the title of the thread, I couldn't tell if I was going to read about the team winning, or the fans whining.

Alas, it was another ingenious thread pointing out that we, the fans, are the problem. Guess the title should have told me exactly what I needed to know about venturing in here.

Am I missing something or are the same folks who last week were blaming Cutcliffe for not properly developing Crompton now saying that Cut would be here if not for the negativity towards Fulmer? Something in there does not jibe.

The word "stop" should have clued you in that it was not about winning. That would imply that we have been already.

I guess all of your lives have been on the up side all along. it never had valleys. stop lying to yourself. i guess when your a fan of a school your a fan no matter what? maybe not.......forget i said anything because its a losing cause....

This is the tenth year of an ongoing "valley" for UT football.

1999-2008 has been a decade of failure at UT.

LSU, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Auburn have all won SEC Championships during that period.

Duke? getting was good at Duke? I think hedeserved better than that! Look at Trooper at OK state... the fans were screaming not to trooper and he is down there making it happen! I guess most will never be happy !
For the record, I've never yelled "not to Trooper"

We are still fans no matter what. We have passion for our team and will not accept a lower tier SEC showing. Every team will have "down years". There is a great difference in interpretation for the definition of "down years".

You mentioned Paterno! Do you honestly believe Fulmer has done anything close to what Paterno has done for Penn St? It looks to me like you are the one kidding yourself!

you clown. You know when you get in a valley you just continue heading downhill and you'll get out. Why on earth would you take the hard road uphill?

First off i'm not making fun of anyone, and secondly i am proud of my faith.... now about the football....its real easy.. i think Mike Hamilton should allow all the haters to coach for one week and one game and lets see how yall would do! then in the off season we should all the supposed true fans out on the recruiting trail... listen i know some of yall fork out a ton of money each year ala donations, travel costs, ticket cost, so forth... I just wish you would realize you have a great coach in Fulmer and if he doesnt get it done over the next 5 years than i am sure he will go! i Mean we played for the SEC championship last year? I must just be confused on what is acceptable as a good program...

Well, this is going to be deep, but here it goes.........
UT Football is our Religion/Faith most of us were born into it, just like the phrase "It’s Football Time in Tennessee" well that’s like saying amen, but if you were a true fan instead of someone from the outside, which we take converts every day, but being hired to coach from OUTSIDE the SEC and the Vol Nation you should at least show some Respect, IN OUR HOUSE OF WORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!! And we reserve the right to BOO or call out on the carpet anyone or anybody we feel is not living to his potential

As I have mentioned several times, UT is a 6 and 6 team this year. They will do no better as long as Fulmer remains. The reason he was given 10 yr contract was so he could be bought out at the end of the season and be sent on his way with a nice little nest-egg. Thanks Phil for your years of service. You were given several ops to leave on your own terms, now it is time to leave on ours.
Can't wait to see who will replace him in 2009. Hopefully a fresh face with no history at Tennessee.:good!:

Listen Phillip, there isn't a top tier program in the country that would be playing the "seniority/it's his turn" card with thier qb......to the detrement of his team, like you.

I have lived all over this great union and have never heard so many stupid comments in my life like I hear and see coming from Knoxville! Example 1 Calling for Fulmers head? Penn State was screaming for Paterno to be run out of town, now look at them. I am a Christian and for all of my fellow Christians you know that things work in seasons! I bet if yall stopped booing and calling John and Jimmy and complaining more recruits would be open to the vols! Do yall really believe these kids aren't on the internet reading and listening to what comes out of Knoxville? Yeah i cringe everytime Crompton throws a pass, and question why we dont line up and play smash mouth football! But in todays game there is to much parady to play one sided! Example 2 last year with Eric Ainge we threw the ball to much! But look at Duke they are 3-1 under coach Cut and yall wanted to run him out of town! DUKE! for goodness sakes!

Under one thing if Tennessee had just a decent QB this year things would be totally different! But because we dont have the person in that position the whole offense suffers. The blame game doesnt work and i know Crompton is trying his best but unfortuantely his best is not good enough for D-1 college football or at least the SEC! This year will be a down year but be positive for once! I mean is it that bad living in a single wide that you must take it out on everyone?

Calling people names? Real Christian of you buddy! Also, your opinion of the situation going on in Knoxville right now is terrible..

Very compelling argument I must say. I'm sure potential recruits will be inspired to enroll at Tennessee after reading this splendid missive. But one thing puzzles me, what the heck is a "parady"?

The ones I have the most problem with are those who have deliberately, with malice toward Fulmer, endeavored to sabotage recruiting each and every year, including the '99 class which was right on the heels of the NC winning Fiesta Bowl effort. They call themselves Vol fans but they will never be that in my book.

without all the haiku and sonnet absurdity, why don't you tell me how someone, claiming to be a Vol fan, undermined recruiting in '99?

It's what you get when you yell "not to trooper" :).
If this isn't Phil, then it's a Bammer, Fla or Ga fan. They all want CPF to be around until the "Hamiltons folly" contract extension is complete.

Don't act all innocent, like you don't deliberately, with malice, endeavor to sabotage recruiting every year.

I'm really not trying to pile on here, but how would someone do this? And why?

I would also have issue with anyone who actively undermined our recruiting for some personal vendetta against our coach. I'm just not sure how that has happened.

You think being nice and patient will make a product improve, which many of us are paying? We have given him 10 years of excuses.
