Stop worrying about MSU

While they give up 135 on the ground, they are stingy through the air with the 26th ranked Defense in the land allowing only 4.28 yds per play and 265.5 total (that's 130.5 in the air).
The back end of their defense is legit, but I don't think they can stop our run and will try to over commit and leave the over the top shots open and get burned.

FWIW - UGA is ranked 39th allowing 299.7 yds total, but their stats are a little skewed since they've only played 3 games and one of those was our game where we put up decent numbers on them.
Stingy, or haven’t played a passing offense with a pulse? Guess we will find out Saturday.

Arky was because Nico couldn't run the offense. SC is because 1) they cheated 2) Hooker went down with an ACL tear.
We could name plenty of others where we lost abd/or underperformed. And then we’d find more excuses of why we lost. The easy answer is you don’t overlook anyone on the schedule, especially an SEC opponent.

2022: Don’t worry about South Carolina
2023: Don’t worry about Missouri
2024: Don’t worry about Arkansas

Not predicting we are going to lose of course. Just a cautionary tale to not take any game too lightly. This is the SEC after all. And for all of Heupel‘s many successes; we are still not exactly known as Road Warriors yet.
I didn't miss a tackle or fumble the ball in 2022, 2023, or 2024. I think we will be ok.

I see a similar game as Syracuse where Tenn has to continue to score to stay ahead because state isnt going away.
The only way I see Tenn losing is if JA has an off day. Like a back-down-to-earth kind of day. Does he have those? Or is he always really good just throws bad picks?
He was off against UAB

My only concern is Lebbys familiarity with our scheme. He may be able to identify things we do better than most. Obviously we have evolved since he was coaching with Hupe, so I hope that wins the day
It’s one thing to know what’s coming. It’s another thing to be able to stop it.

Upsets happen, if this team wants to be a juggernaut like the Georgia and Ohio State’s of CFB they go down there and whoop ass like they’re supposed to, but as we’ve seen over the years Tennessee hasn’t quite made it to that level yet. Feels like they’re close but also very far away.

Missouri was an 11-win team that year. At their place. Weird to put them in that category.

Well, prior to their game against the Vols, Georgia's defense was allowing an average of 6.5 ppg, 201.5 total yards, 140 passing yards and 61.5 rushing yards.
Mississippi State allowed two 100+ yard rushers(with neither being named Cam Skattebo) against Arizona State with the longest run by either being 26 yards, so it's not like they just broke a long TD run. They allowed 251 yards rushing in their home stadium against the only P4 team they have played.
While none of that guarantees a win, you have to like our chances to be successful offensively.

Never, ever want to create bulletin board material for the opponent. It's gonna be trench warfare this weekend and to look past Miss State is like saying Vandy or KY are never gonna beat us again

Guys they are giving up 135 rushing yards a game, look at who they've played. ASU is not as good was they were last year... our O-line is about to put on a show, our RB's are going to have fun on Saturday.
We literally lost to a shittier Arkansas team last year and sharps are pounding Miss St..Those guys don't lose often. This is going to be a tough game and nothing about it will be easy. We all know we **** the bed on the road atleast once a year and usually games our fans say there's nothing to worry about. There's absolutely something to worry about. I'll take getting out of there win a win margin or any kind.

It's not offensively that I'm worried about. Their QB's and WR's will light our secondary up. We're gonna have to outscore them.
