He's .500 against VANDY
No wins against bama
His money year is behind him
1-5 against Florida
His first save me guy broke Sals records at UT week after week
His second save me guy is in over his head
On the doorstep of a W and he threw it 2 from the 1
Just got shut out at home for the first time in 112 years
The week prior he failed to have his team ready to play and nearly gave away a game to a team who hadn't won a game all year. Furthermore, they just gave up 59 this past weekend

What more do you need?

The only toss up is LSU.

Nice to see someone that actually uses logic around here. I'm starting to believe a large % of our fans suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder. Two weeks ago people were screaming, "Mullen!!! Mullen!!!!". Of course, just a few games later, they've completely changed their minds. People just refuse to learn from the past.

I reckon it'll be "over" when lose by 50 to Bama. Lol...

I realize this isnt the best year for a coaching search (Nebraska, LSU, Ole Miss may be in the hunt) but I think there are some quality up-and-coming candidates out there. Let the season play out, see how the up-and-comers do and re-eveluate Butch after the Vandy game. If it's clear the ship hasnt righted itself, then it's probably time to cut cord and pay the buyout.

Just hope Currie is cutthroat enough to do it. Last thing we need is an AD scared to make a move because of a sizeable buyou stymieing what is best for the football program. F that noise. Time for the AD to step up to the plate and swing. Can't keep Butch if continues regress and/or show no improvement as the season goes on.

I am with you on this.
I don't see Butch getting fired until after the Bama game.

I mean if he were fired now, and Tennessee lost to SC and got a beat down vs Bama.......things could go south even further; however if that happens and then Butch is fired.....things could look better. The rest of the schedule is much more favorable for the Vols.......sure it will be tough given how Tennessee looks now, but: MO, S MIss, a bad LSU team, KY and Vandy.........you win some of those and it will be much better for the program and for an incoming coach.

Getting better? Are you freaking kidding me? We just had the worst ass whipping put on us at home since 1904. I mean I'm sure we could theoretically do worse but at this point I'm pretty sure you can do better by putting coaching names in a damn hat and drawing out a candidate.

Most of those coaches don't want any oart of UT. The guy who will take the job and move the Vols to the next level is Greg Schiano. He is the former head coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs and before that HC at Rutgers. He is now the DC under Urban Meyer at Ohio St. Schiano is rhe type of coach that would move Tenn to the next level. We need an NFL coach who can run a good pro style offense.

2 pro style O's in the current top 10, 7 teams of the current top 10 sun a version of the spread option.

Of the 6 teams in the 3 playoff championship games......only 1 ran a pro style.

Not saying the pro style is dead in college (because it isn't), but a form of the spread option (when coached well and ran well) seems to be what is working right now.

If it makes yall feel better to say its over forbutch, go ahead. Doesnt change the fact he isnt going anywhere. The chickens have come home to roost for all the fans who demand coaching changes when a team doesnt win the sec every year
