Maybe Kirby is the NEXT Saban? Lol. That's hilarious! UGA just beat us, not even a Top 25 team. Kirby has a long way to go and doesn't even have a ring as a Head Coach. At least CBJ does! Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water....we should keep CBJ, we could repeat as Champions of Life!

If I was a betting man, I'd bet that Peyton could scroll thru his cell phone and come up with a pretty good list of possible coaches for Currie to call.

Look at bama's sideline, it's chock full of nfl experience.

People who say 8-4 is the ceiling for Botch are wrong. One name, Josh Dobbs, is who made a horrible coach look much better. We've seen who he was before he started JD, and we're seeing it again.

I think UT is that middle-aged c.n.a, two kids that believes some doctor, scientists, movie star will marry her. She's beautiful and would make a great wife. Just aiming for something way out of her range. I've accepted our true identity. We are a 9-3, occasionally 11-1 type of university. The 90s really did spoil us.

We will not see the current winning pattern continue with Botch Jones.

My Hoping and wishing ain't gonna make anything happen, so I'm best off not worrying about it.

That said, if they fire him today or at the end of season, I do hope, wish AND pray they at least have a well thought out plan.

The UMASS coach, took on a team that was better in every position, and coached. That SOB out coached jones 20 to 1, yes he lost, but in the real world, he and his team went home winners. The very idea that there are not any good coaches out there is stupid. I believe there are a lot of really good coaches in the country, give them the resources of UT and sit back-watch the team win. The real question is who hired-gave a raise to, and kept jones as HC? This group needs to turn the power over to some one else, they clearly have squandered UT's money, and our standing in NCAA Football. We do not necessarily have to hire a "Big name", but rather spend the time to find a Real Coach-they are out there.

I think you are misinterpreting the posts sir. It's not that people believe Dooley was better for the program than Jones. It's that Jones, at best, is marginally better. This is a tangent conversation anyway. Most posters believe Jones in year 5 has reached his ceiling for coaching effectiveness on the hill. Time to move on and get someone this storied program and it's loyal fans deserve to compete for confere5 and national championships.

OP you don't have a clue what you are talking about. Has UT shown in the past that it is willing to pay the highest salary in CFB? No, but that doesn't mean you can't get a heck of a lot better coach for 4-5 million which is what they are paying now for this crap show. Jones makes over 4 million and paying a coach 5 million puts a coach in the top 10 in pay which isn't a huge leap financially. Will they? Who knows but the past AD leadership doesn't give me much hope but things have changed so time will tell

He's making the decision easier for those that will make it every Saturday and even throughout the weeks in between.

My diagnosed high blood pressure was good yesterday. Im no more worried about it than you.

They are in a positive position unlike the recent hires. That won't last past this season IMO without a change in direction.

If Jones does somehow make it through the season, does he want to be here going forward. May factor that into the future as well.

He's not having fun with his feet being held to the fire.

He's in a position we're the fans will never be happy. He's used up his allotment of losses. So it would take 2 wins in a row vs Bama and no stupi losses.....and no close game vs people we should kill...for all to be forgiven
