Stop with the Crompton bashing!

If you paid close attention to Eric Berry towards the end of the game you noticed his jersey sweat soaked and he was sucking air, yet he continued to play as hard as he could. When the D made yet another stop, on came Crompton and just gave it away again. He is too much of a let down to his team, coaches, and fans to cut him any slack!

have you ever coached? do you know anything about sport psych?

1) there is nothing we can do about the QB situation. Do you have a batphone that goes to CLK's cell?

2) if the fanbase is constantly bashing the kid and booing and what not, is that gonna make him better?

3) to improve a player you DONT just constantly bash their flaws, you look for ways to improve.

any questions?

I just picture him sitting in his apartment with Yanni on and petting his mustache the same way Dr. Evil pets his cat on Austin Powers.

My 16yr old nephew has grown a thicker stache then Crompton has. Hell if that was the best I could grow a stach I would do without.

The best way to improve JC is to tell him to have a seat on the bench and be a good sport and help hand out water during timeouts...

people want stephens because while he puts up avg numbers and wont goo for big yards or as many yards as crompton can, he wont make as many mistakes. it is a risk sort of thing. crompton is betting the house= good or really really bad. stephens is staying in the game but not losing big= pretty avg

Im gonna have to trust Kiffin on the qb situation, Its obvious that he plays the best players, so if he still plays cromp over stephens that should say somethin.

It looks like he won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Debbie Does Dallas.

and replace him with who? Stevens? I will trust Kiffin when he says crompton is the best of the two, after all he had a few heisman trophy winners and a national chammpionship or 2

Have you ever heard of the phrase: He can't cut the mustard? Perhaps if we bash him enough he will get the hint and either stop making bonehead plays or be a man and step down. He is 22 yrs old and not a kid, but he can throw a temper tandrum like a 5 yr old.

I believe there may be some below the iceberg factors that will be looked at before the change is made...

It's deeper than just making a change, no matter how God-awful JC looks.

I mean it was not ALL his fault. There was poor blocking, passes dropped. But I personally think something is wrong with the kid mentally. Its ashame to waste such a great defense with a bad offense

how does bashing one player help the team? I know you are gonna say some garbage like oh hell quit or something like that, but i hate to tell you when your fans are booing that effects THE WHOLE TEAM!

He is not a great qb, we all know this. He has made his fair share of mistakes, but he did not single handly lose the game saturday. The offensive line couldnt give him anytime in the pocket. You could put any qb u want back there but if he doesnt have time hes gonna make mistakes.

Whats with all this put in stephens talk. I lost all respect for the guy in the wyoming game last year. He showed no hustle and is a hot head. Neither one of our qbs is completly stable or ready to run the offense. But we will do the best with what we got.

So everyone please stop blaming cromp, and believe me im far from being his biggest supporter but he doesnt need to be booed at Neyland. So lets all just focus on fl and look forward to watching this team grow over the season and the next few years. This is our team, so lets show our support. GO VOLS!!!

There are signs all over campus that say, "Week 2 Pac-10 player of the week - Jonathon Crompton"

I would like to think our players are smart enough to figure out who is getting booed. It isn't like they can't hear comments like Crompton you suck. The booing had no effect on the defense as well. Your reasoning for not booing Crompton using the team concept is weak. All the players know he cost them opportuniites, it's not like it is a secret.

im pretty sure the true team captain stopped the blame game amongst the players. do you know how much psychology plays a role in sports? if I had something that I thought would stand a better chance yes he would be benched, but sometimes you gotta play with the hand dealt.

What happens if Moore catches that ball for a first down and the drive stays alive? Or Hancock pulls down the deep cross that was completely catchable? Or Stocker doesn't drop the passes thrown to him? Or BB takes that swing pass and runs north instead of east and picks up the first down?

All of these things would have helped Crompton's stats and confidence. It's agreed that he is not going to win the Heisman. And yet he is not the reason we lost. He is one of the reasons.

Our recievers couldn't get speration and dropped a lot of balls. The OLine had a horrible game. They couldn't run or pass block. The play calling was suspect. 50% of the time our tackling wasn't sound.

Peyton Manning might have lost this game. To dump it all at the feet of Crompton is unfair and shows how little you know about the game of football.

GO VOLS!!!
