LOL, fair enough. Was going for shock value, but maybe that was too negative. Meanwhile, what say ye about my post immediately aboce this one? Curious as to your take because I really do think the team has not been the same since Memphis.

Coasting? Or peaked too early?
That is the question (okay, two questions).

a little of both I think combined with resting.

I think the way the schedule played out and the SEC T may work to UT'S advantage.

I did believe we were going to be pitted from day one against UNC. (after the Vandy Game)

I just did not know whether we would be a 2, 3 or 4 but the bottom line is that we were going to be in the UNC bracket no matter what happened after the loss to Vandy.

It comes down to the bottom Line it is not about Fairness, it is not about Records; it is not about body of work' it is not about rpi, it is not about SOS, it is all about MONEY

LG, show one place where Pearl has whined about being a 2 seed. SHOW ME

See post 205 in the Halfcourt Trap thread, by hat. Says that Pearl said on the conference call with media that he would take this year's seeding and learn about scheduling.

Now, you have to read between the lines a little bit, which I know might be tough for you what with the whole reading part and all, but the clear implication is that he's complaining that the tough schedule caused the four losses and ergo the #2 seed. Why else mention seeding in that context?

Because he was not rewarded for the chances he took to play the hardest schedule in the country.

there are only two constants with the NCAA tourney:
1. 63 teams still have 6 games to win.
2. there will always be reasons for someone to bitch about the brackets and seeding for whatever reason.

so why not us. We haven't really been able to bitch the past couple of seasons, so it's our frickin' turn.

This is exactly my point.

What I foresee is that, if you lose earlier than hoped for, then people will blame it on seeding.

Which will be just really annoying.

Its our punishment for wasting the 2 seed a few years ago......we must learn to appreciate our seedings........

For crying out loud, what is with you guys? Even Pearl is stuck on this whiny we didn't get a one seed issue. Enough! Just go win games! You want to be the best, you got to beat the best -- who cares in what order?

Incidentally, I looked it up. Of the last ten final fours, 15 of the teams have been #1 seeds, 9 have been #2 seeds, 7 have been #3 seeds, and 3 have been #4 or #5 seeds. A few others thrown in. Point is, not as huge a difference as you might think.

Florida was a #3 seed when they won it all in 2006. Connecticutt was a #2 seed in 2004. Syracuse was a #3 seed in 2003. Kentucky was a #2 seed in 1998.

This coming from a guy who's football coach whines more than any.

where have i disagreed with that? i think we should be a 1 as well.
you haven't disagreed. I'm just sayin' so everyone tellin' us to stop bitching will ease up off our backs about it, back the heck up, sit the flock down and shut the crap up so we can finish our bitchin' that we didn't get to do for the past couple seasons.

I guarantee you that I will not blame anything on seedings.

I'll only blame the committee.
