For crying out loud, what is with you guys? Even Pearl is stuck on this whiny we didn't get a one seed issue. Enough! Just go win games! You want to be the best, you got to beat the best -- who cares in what order?

Incidentally, I looked it up. Of the last ten final fours, 15 of the teams have been #1 seeds, 9 have been #2 seeds, 7 have been #3 seeds, and 3 have been #4 or #5 seeds. A few others thrown in. Point is, not as huge a difference as you might think.

Florida was a #3 seed when they won it all in 2006. Connecticutt was a #2 seed in 2004. Syracuse was a #3 seed in 2003. Kentucky was a #2 seed in 1998.

While I though we deserved a #1, I'm not really upset at the committee for not giving us one. All of the #1's had better records in their last 12 and won their conference tourneys. I think people are more upset about us being the last #2 (eighth best team).

I don't want anyone to worry about this tournament thingy. We've still got the Fulmer debate to keep us going.

Right, because a bunch of fans discussing the seeding on an internet message board means that our coach and players aren't getting ready to win games in the tournament. Good point. Thanks for the help.

In support of LG1's point and his gators, I understand that Billy D. hasn't yet had one cross public word for the NIT selection committee that relegated him to a 2 seed.

and please remember the days when we didn't play in the ncaa tourney.

Exactly!

I am talking to the fans who are whining about it. The clue was where I said "You guys." I guess you got confused by my reference to Pearl's scheduling comment. I can understand your getting that mixed up (but not really).

So thank to you for nothing.

Honestly, I'd rather not even be in it. Its embarrassing.

I suppose down the road it will serve as a useful humble reminder to these players of what happens to teams that don't play with intensity for 40 minutes.

Except for the unnecessary "to", you no know the collective VolNation response to every post you have ever made.

Actually, it was a missing "s" on "thanks" that was my error. Much like the missing "w" on "now" in your own post.

We have a right to whine!!! We've been to two Sweet Sixteens in program history!!!

It is amazing how much perspective has changed. Honestly, I'd be happy with an Elite Eight and a shot against UNC to go to San Antonio.

The fact that your perspective has changed is what is so exciting about this year's Vols team. The higher your performance, the higher your expectations. And the higher your expectations go, the more your perspective will change on the meaning of success.

I thought it was all about tournament wins.

There is a finite timeline to this madness deal...

Worry about getting in

Fret over worthless bracketology

Speculate on your seeding

Get your seed

Blame the committee for your seed

Play the first round

Worry about the second round

Play.... worry... repeat...

It is the sameness that makes it fun. Don't rain on the tradition.
