Stop Trolling Currie

Last Thursday night, after our soccer team beat Arkansas to secure a first-round bye in the SEC tournament, AD Currie tweeted his congratulations to the team. Unsurprisingly, I suppose, moronic Vol football fans decided to hijack the tweet and aggressively trolled Currie with retweets demanding that he sack Coach Jones. So a nice gesture to another Vol team was ruined by a bunch of football malcontents.

I'm quite sure Currie is well aware that many Vol football fans are unhappy with Jones. I doubt he needs reminding of the fact, and he certainly doesn't need to be trolled when he's commenting on other sports. Have some respect for the other programs at UT, not to mention the athletic director--and Jones, who, like him or not, has busted his tail for UT for years. You want to carp endlessly about Jones, fine, but do it here or on other football boards and don't tarnish other programs with your pique. :peace2:

Justified IMO until he makes a move and get a new football coach. Football pays the bills for the damn soccer team!

Definitely need to avoid disrespecting our other teams.

However, there is no reason, at this point, to have any confidence in anyone involved with our athletic department. Maybe Currie will make a great hire. But after suffering through the tidal wave of gross incompetence that Mike Hamilton started and that Da e Hart continued, there is ZERO to be optimistic about. We are at the point where no one gets the benefit of the doubt. It’s 100% “show me.” Hope isn’t a method.

If the Athletic Director wants that to change, he needs to get results. The fans have been patient enough. We’ve suffered horrendously through Kiffin, Dooley, and now this.

Do you realize that football pays for all of the other sports?

If yes, then you also realize from a business standpoint football is the biggest priority for a sitting AD at Tennessee.

Currie needs to understand that FOOTBALL also pays his salary. Indecision is not a valid decision.

And who says it isn't? This message board? If he works 60 hours a week and spends 45-50 of them on football, is that not sufficient given how many other sports he oversees? People getting this hell bent over two tweets is ridiculous.

The tweets are not my problem. The product were putting on the field is. The last 3 hires, every team in the conference passing us by in year with top ranked recruiting classes. Being the laughing stock of CFB. Watching our administration sit on their butt, while other programs make moves to improve. The list goes on.

Are you a friend of Curries, or suck at your job too? Kinda touchy

Football pays the bills. Not the 122 soccer fans that show,up for those games. Be smart, be like bama, feed the money maker and all else will take care of itself.

I would dissolve the soccer team for a new coach right now. Doesn't bother me in the least that fans are blasting Currie

Maybe if Currie would address the elephant in the room, this would stop.

Let's summarize...you walk around the stadium after ANOTHER disappointing performance looking all mad, but never a word. You have a 3 and 5 coach that has squandered talent and looked...well, inept. You have a coach that can't open his mouth without spewing some bulls..t cliché line that drives everybody crazy, you have been beaten the worst in forever, you have been held scoreless, you can't score a touchdown in upteen quarters of football, you have now gone 0-5 in the SEC...AGAIN, and you just LOST to a Kentucky showing that their Mark Stoops hire was better than you school's hire.

Yeah...I think people are fed up and he will/should hear about it until he gets off his a** or grows a pair and takes care of the situation.

But, just the thoughts from a 50 year fan of the program that spends money to go to watch this sh**show.

People are done...he needs to realize this and address it!

If it wasn't for the money from football there would be no soccer.

Well, since you told me I can't. Anything else I'm not allowed to do?

I say not only troll him on twitter but those of you that live in Knoxville should troll him every second he is out in public.
