Ya know? For you Rush listeners and Vol fans alike all know it’s common and natural for peope to base their decisions on things that have occurred in their own lifetime. Makes things more believable or relevant. Well I remember going to games and listening to games when we would get beaten by Wash. St , Army , Vandy , Duke etc. Tn. Football has been mediocre before but Pruitt is a solid bad ass with the rings to go with it and 180 degrees of Butch, he’s not a showman and I don’t think he’s full of it. I think he’s here, right now, to get it done.

The post on a message board about we don't deserve anything and only hard work will get us what we want. So making the assumption that OP is accurate and I need to quit thinking i deserve something, please tell me how i can work harder to make UT a championship team again.

If making completely pointless threads is how to do it, the OP is getting his hard work started out early.

Would you suggest that i make a post about how CJP needs recruit taller receivers because they can jump higher? Or maybe how if they had them old broke down sleds our coaches made us push around years ago these young whippersnappers would really know what hard work is.

Do either of those topics seem pointless enough to help us get back into championship form. Cause if they do...expect to see them.

I watched until late in the 4th quarter and either sling or my dadgum wifi started freezing the pic. I told the wife that suffering a beatdown from Vandy was miserable enough but stringing it out for a few extra minutes was more torture than i could take. So I tapped out and missed the last couple of minutes. I did get to see KC come in for some reason. That was a move i didn't understand but like i said not long after that i tapped out like Connor McGreggor to a neck crank.

We’re gonna suck until we don’t. Every single major program has gone through an extended period of losing ( Texas or Nebraska, anyone?) and we are no different. Is Pruitt the answer? Hell, I have no idea. But he’s here so hang on for the ride.

Those kids worked for a year to try and beat vandy.... a year of sweat and blood.... just because couch QB wants it to "feel like 98 again" does not mean you put in actual work...... your misery means nothing to the young men on the team

I haven't put in actual work. You're the da that stated hard work was the only thing that would get us out of this mess. I repeatedly asked you how i could work harder to help out.


However i do need to point out that you first stated hard work would get us out of the state we are in and then proceeded to tell me how hard this team worked for a year to fail to beat Vandy.

You're talking in circles bro.

Vandy has a better team. Our program under Pruitt is yet to be defined.

I enjoyed college at UT too much, so I ended up getting my degree elsewhere. I did keep a lot of bars on the strip in business in the 80s, does that count for anything?

This really doesn't make any sense. What is killing this program is poor leadership from the administration and some really bad hires which has led to constant instability. Tennessee's fans, considering what they have been through the last 10 years, have remained incredibly loyal and supportive in the face of some gross and embarrassing incompetence, culminating in the coaching search last year. The one positive thing, which may eventually pull the football program out of the abyss is, the passion of the fans - and their money.

It's more a matter of looking at the rosters and how much more talent we appear to have according to ever recruiting analyst in America. It's not that the football world "owes" us anything. We have the talent in place to beat the snot out of a team like vandy. Really South Carolina and mizzou should be wins based on our roster as well. I realize that jg is nowhere close to the top duel threat qb in the nation he was supposed to be (shouldn't even be a duel threat qb imo) and many of the olineman aren't as good as advertised (Richmond) but we still should have plenty of players to beat a team like them. The loss is on the coaches. They were very uncreative with the game planning and allowed us to come out totally uninspired. And for 5 million+ this fan base does deserve something...we deserve a competent coaching staff that can get these guys playing good football

I'm kind of old but if jumping higher means championships for the Orange I'll be in the squat rack tomorrow. Well, the Smith Machine, Planet Fitness doesn't believe in squat racks and I don't believe in paying $50 per month gym memberships. But by god by September I'll add at least an inch to my vertical.

That’s what is means to me too.

There was a hype video that UT released for the 2016 season.

Jump Higher was a song they used. One of the better ones imo.

Honestly if I “worked hard” for a year to do one thing and one thing only and then I FAILED that epically, I’d just freaking quit cause buddy that crap show last night was far from “working hard”.

Now if you meant they “worked hard” to not be out there and go home for the holidays the bravo to them for pulling it off

You are correct. Most fans are die hard fans. Some fans may not be very football knowledge but have genuine love for UT
However, venting and being critical of our players and coaches on this site is not good. I would guess parents of recruits might tune in to this site occasionally and see bad comments
