I'm simplifying the statement to make a point I know how the finances work.

Do NOT halt renovations of the stadium because they are necessary. Phase 1 includes overhauling the south side from the ground up.

It's more important to invest in the right people instead of facilities.

That's an easy thing to say when you're sitting at home in Texas and not actually living in Knoxville and attending the games. Like many have said already it won't cost $106 million to hire a new coach and that's not how this works anyway.

And we pay premium prices on seats in Neyland to only watch a undercoached team that our coaches can not develop players.

The Administration is just following Butch's advise on the "brick by brick". The only issue is we must be building a s#%t house with all the crap we are seeing over there.

They can't stop the renovations now. They will need to reduce the number of seats to give the optics that we are selling out every Saturday. Of course, they may need to redraw their plans now.

5 appearances on CBS 3:30 game and 3? gameday appearances would indicate yes.
We were relevant. Emphasis on the word "were."
Frankly, if we were going to stink things up the way we did too often, I would have been just as happy to have been on pay-per-view.

Getting exposed on national TV makes Monday mornings at the office pretty bad. Especially because no one mocks. Instead, they're just kind. :ermm:

Just to put last night's loss in perspective from a money standpoint:

"The Sugar Bowl payout is approximately $18 million; most bowls now considering the Vols pay about $2 million."

from John Brice last night.

A better coaching job could have earned the Vols a percentage of a 16 million dollar difference in payout for 1 game. Now, I know that the money goes into the SEC pool but getting to those bigger games would seemingly include a bigger chunk for the participating schools.

I would hardly call the games against FL, GA, and A&M stinking it up. In fact, I would say they were some of the most exciting football games I've ever seen. But it's cool guys, VolNExile can't face his office mates on Monday so FAHR BUTCH.

Read again. I said "like we did way too often." I wasn't talking about the exciting games. I was talking about the ones where we flopped around like fish on the bottom of the boat.

And I'm just fine with facing my office mates on Monday. It was just a sad, sad end to a season that started with high hopes.
