Stop saying "Next year" and stop saying "We're young"

It's a process. We just lack depth to fight for 4 quarters. The staff wasn't out there failing to execute. Brick by brick. We can still win the east.

Was skeptical about Butch the moment I saw him doing a s**t laying bricks in that commercial.

People can say "it's a process" all they want but in order for the process to work you have to have coaching, we don't. Good coaches find ways to win, especially when you have a double digit lead in the last qtr. just look at the examples, Saban had an undefeated reg season his 2nd year and Bama was in just as bad of shape as we were. Look what Meyer has done at ou. I'm not saying butch should equal their success but we would be undefeated right now with either one of those coaches. In fact there are others that would have us undefeated at this point. He is in over his head plain and simple. He may eventually become a top tier coach but at what cost to Tennessee? We will lose recruits over this. He's been able to use the "young" excuse so far in recruiting but when you lose like we have to okl and fla with the classes we've had, that shows a true weakness in coaching and top high school kids will sign with the ones that are winning. We missed such an opportunity last night. Fla won't be down for long. Put the $ up for a GOOD coach and let's start the "process" over.

Lexington: The gateway to glory for outstanding juniors and seniors with losses to Georgia State and Vanderbilt on their resumes.

I understand your sarcasm, but the point is that a much better recruited, and now coached, group of senior players are now 4-0. Muschamp just couldn't do much with them, as we all know.

I mean, they have three true freshmen on the OL, had one true QB (in his second SEC start) on the roster, and are starting a safety at linebacker. We'd be howling about recruiting disadvantages if that were us. They haven't recruited all that well, especially on offense. If Butch hasn't beaten the Gators yet, he never will. They won't stay this bad forever. The window of opportunity is officially closed. May as well start making some 0-12 T shirts.

No, they had a crap tone more experience in games like this. Guys who have been around for a while and are ready to make the jump to the NFL. We had guys in high school few months ago. As far as that first year head coach thing goes. I said it and believed it until I realized that he is the one behind all those alasalami BCS championships and undefeated seasons. Florida made themselves a hire. I was slow to realize it though. Coach jones actually has less ecperience.

McElwain wasn't on the 2003 LSU staff and he wasn't on the 2012 Bama staff. Butch Jones has been a HC for 8+ years, McElwain has been a HC for 3+ years. UF is 126 out of 128 FBS teams in experience, we're in the mid 60's. UF isn't more talented or more experienced. Excuses need to stop. The problem with telling yourself something over and over is eventually you start believing it. That's already happened in the TN fanbase and potentially the locker room as well.

The idea that the Vols are a "young" team may not necessarily mean that they are smaller, lighter, weaker, or less talented than their opponents. I think one big problem is that none of the players have stepped up and assumed the kind of leadership roles that are vital to build a dynasty. I remember players like Witten, Carter, Henderson, Kent, Manning, Martin, Shuler, Berry, Holloway, Henry, White and Wilson being the clear leaders. They were heroes, even, that formed the heart and soul of the team. Who is doing that with this team? Or any of the CBJ teams?
