I'll leave this right here.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind Schiano knew. Everyone knew and I mean EVERYONE! This school is a cult and they gladly covered up the sins of Sandusky to keep the school and Paterno happy. Players used to joke about not dropping the soap when Sandusky was around. If players joked about it you damn well know Schiano knew, not to mention the fact that he answered to Sandusky. He knew.

Now before you jump on my and my husband, my husband is not a part of the cult. He supports his school because he went to a satellite school in Behrand but he refuses to buy the BS that Paterno is a saint and knew nothing.

Good grief. Most folks just stated that they did not want anyone associated with PSU during that time as the face for the program.

There is absolutely nothing wild and unfounded in that.

This is a reasonable position but unfortunately it's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about this sort of thing:

Saying he sucks is one thing..... saying he's a child rapist is another

So apologize for those who actually stated that? No problem. Not going to apologize for not wanting to hire the questions that were going to be asked. Not for the net return involved.

Apparently some of you morons think the fan base is full of idiots and keep calling into sport talk shows apologizing for not hiring Greg Shiano.
I got news for you turds, even if he didn't have any association with Sandusky I wouldn't want him as our head coach because he sucks as a coach!

Shiano was a lose lose. The dumb ass that brought up his name as a candidate should be fired immediately. Oh that was Currie.
Currie does what Haslam tells him

Everybody watch and see how long it takes OSU to find cause to dump their jerk rather than our jerk. We dodged a major league bullet. The guy himself is not a child rapist, under oath a person said he understood Schiano thought something was going on and did nothing to stop or report it. Could have saved a lot of kids a lot of pain by just manning up. He's a .500 football coach why the hell would we hire somebody as our coach with that sort of abysmal stat dropping the character thing altogether?

Have no desire to get into this totally fruitless conversation but this was a topic of discussion I had today with a gentleman I highly respect, is a UT booster and long time season ticket holder, and has family on the athletic staff at UT...His statement was .."Now OSU has a decision to make because the accusation WAS NOT OUT THERE WHEN THEY HIRED SCHIANO...so how long and how much pressure will it take for them to address this? I don't know and not claiming CGS was guilty but he needs to address it under oath if possible BECAUSE IN TODAYS CLIMATE IT IS NOT GOING AWAY!!!!

Exactly. Just denying it is not enough. That should be clear to him and those that manage his career from what happened yesterday.

So, you knew. Did you go to the authorities with the information?

Who cares if it was about his Penn State crap or his winning record. The fact of the matter is, TN stood together against everyone. We accomplished something spectacular. We didn’t like the hire, for whichever reason, and took on all. For that I am proud of VN and those who truly care about this great program. 👏👏👍👍

I agree. But with or without the scandal, he is still a mid major coach totally unproven as a head coach at this level. Ring any bells? That’s what took us from the late 90’s TN to what we are now. Ten years of Dooleyand Jones. Schiano would have been more of the same. IMO

When any protest breaks out, it’s going to include varying levels of discord. I personally would not have painted the Rock or held a sign that assumes the guilt of Schiano.
If we had real leadership who cared about this place, none of this would have happened.

Perhaps that was unfair, but there wasn't much else to fight with that would unite so many people. The argument isn't really invalid either; it would have been used against us by recruiters from other schools. Schiano was simply a no win way to go, and Currie was an absolute fool for going there.

You keep continuing to post this nonsense about a mid / major coach while completely ignoring that he coached two seasons in the NFL.

Granted, his coaching style was brusque and not welcomed by most. And, in retrospect, I don't think he was the best fit for UT.

But stop with the mid / major stuff.

Finebaum Show phone callers are giving us a beat down. Saying we don’t know where we are in the pecking order. Said no coaches would want to coach there. Sad days

We are absolutely ridiculous. This is craziness. Let’s turn away Greg Schiano because obviously Nick Saban is just waiting by the phone for our call.
