Stop all the arguing; just answer two questions

The bump rule is a freaking joke. With everything that goes on in college basketball recruiting many of you want to fire a highly successful coach for a BBQ and saying hi to a kid. That's what the two infractions are. You're right he is a scum bag. The NCAA is not god, Pearl said he was sorry, move on. Tennessee basketball has been dead for years and it's not just because we had an AD that only cared about football. We have no great tradition and Pearl is making us a player every year. Hamilton just drove the bus over his best hire. (Dooley may be great but we don't have the record to back it up yet)

If this was only about a BBQ and a bump . . . this would all have been over months ago.

I get the people saying no to both. I can understand the people saying yes to both. I can understand the argument for yes on Pearl and no on Hamilton . . . but people saying No on Pearl and Yes on Hamilton absolutely amaze me. There's just no logic to that.

Bruce did this to himself, it's hard to support a man who committed a major violation only days after he cried to the world saying how sorry he was.

1) The bump rule is a freaking joke. You're right he is a scum bag. The NCAA is not god, 3) Pearl said he was sorry, move on. Hamilton just drove the bus over his best hire. (Dooley may be great but we don't have the record to back it up yet)

1) The bump rule might be a joke. Not reporting the violation and having your employer find out about it from the NCAA is not.

2) I don’t see lying to the NCAA on your list. Which happens to be the big deal.

3) Who do you have coaching during his 1 or 2 year suspension?

I'm shocked...yes shocked, that Hamilton is still the AD at Tennessee. Politics in the snob sector of Knoxville is as consistant as it is keeping him on the payroll.

My point is his two infractations are tiny in the face of what goes on in recruiting. I know he lied, he came clean. His lie did not hurt anyone, he wasn't covering up money he's putting into bank accounts, cars, drugs, or anything that would make you say oh my god! Everyone jumps on the bandwagon that's going by that says Pearl is Scum. I don't get it. He does a lot for the community and his kids love him. If people have some other reason to dislike him, great. It's not because he's a scum bag dirty underhanded liar though IMO. It may be that you liked the last coach or you loved the way the program was going 10 years ago. I don't know, but I don't think he's a dirty individual. I'm done with my rant, proceed

Tony Jones can coach next year to answer your question, and please stop taking the morale high road with the he "lied to the NCAA". He came clean, period. Maybe he didn't think he was violating the bump rule and that's why he didn't report it. Let's here all the facts before we convict him of another "major" infraction

You're unsure about Pearl but want Hamilton gone because he behaved like a clown? That strikes me as a tad ironic.

OK get your point

1. probably yes

2. yes

I like Bruce’s general personality he was just fun to have around when things were going well (3-4 years)...He has to go now…gonna miss him...The personal liking of BP jovial energetic demeanor and Orange painted chest is where the ???? came from

Can anyone say there has been a 3-4 year period that it was fun to have Hamilton around…It seemed Hamilton never had the respect (or maybe control is a better word) of his employees (kif/pearl) or they would not have done their circus acts with the NCAA rules...IMO that makes Hamilton the Ringmaster of the whole show

that is it

1. no (my answer is based on jim tressel. if it's ok for tressel to stick around, i don't see why it's not ok for pearl to stick around).

2. yes.

He lied, called recruits to help him enforce that lie, and once he found out he was going to be caught is when he came clean. That and committing a major violation only days after his teary eyed press conference is whats going to be his downfall. I could care less about making a few extra phone calls and having a BBQ with some recruits. If he would have come clean at the very beginning of this mess we're looking at a couple secondary violations and Bruce keeping his job. You know as well as I do no one liked the way things were before Bruce. Bruce is not Tenn bball, and we can win without him.

It would not surprise me. Don't most like their coach? Who have you spoken to in private to know how they feel about him and what is going on?

whatever happens, i really, really hope that hamilton waits for the ncaa to make a decision on pearl before hamilton does anything.

i want ohio state to have to justify why they are keeping tressel (and they will keep him) when tennessee gets rid of pearl.

i also want the ncaa to justify the punishment that tressel receives if it is less than what is given to pearl.
