Stoops not impressed with TN home field advantage...

if big and loud guarantee wins why have UT, Michigan, Penn st., etc. struggled lately? most stadiums and arenas considered the loudest aren't the biggest. examples. Seahawks, Oregon, Duke basketball.
Stadium size doesn't have much to do w it. I have been to Kansas st. , Colorado ( yes they used to be good), Neyland, Oklahoma. Loud is loud. 60,000 or 102,455. Not much difference. For big games. Kansas state is less than 60 and considered one of the toughest places to play in Cfb.

It will be an unmatched atmosphere but OU will not lose because of crowd noise. How they stop the run, protect the passer, etc. will impact outcome.

Dumb for Stoops to give bulletin board material. Everyone on here should start their own viral campaign (facebook, twitter, etc) and get the word out that Stoops isn't impressed with Neyland. Make it impossible for OU to hear sat night.

It's not bulletin board material, it's the truth. This isn't Ark St coming to town, OU is no stranger to big games and big venues.

Seriously... It's Okla-friggin-homa!? They've seen a few large stadiums. That's not to say the crowd can't have an impact; just that they're not going to be scared in pregame warm ups by the sheer size.

This is all coach speak and some acting. Was with him at the end of June And he was worried about this game and the environment.

'...here’s what Stoops had to say about the upcoming environment during his Monday press conference:

“Come on, we’ve had Notre Dame and Florida State prior to that. We’ve been on this stage before. We’ll have the music blaring in the stadium this week for every road game this season,” Stoops said. “It shouldn’t be any different. It’s exciting but exciting things happen in any stadium across the country,” Stoops said. “In the end, we’ll be on the field like every other game ready to go.

“All of those guys have played in big games on the road,” Stoops said. “We go on the road all the time. I have a hard time understanding all the questions about a stadium. When we go somewhere, it’s usually not half full.”

I guess we shall see. #RockNeyland

'When we go there, it's usually not half full", is he thinking it will not be sold out lol?
I understand him downplaying loudness in that they prepare to play in front of loud enviroments at any road game, but that line was confusing.

He's saying "when Oklahoma comes to town...stadiums sell out"...and they're used to rowdy receptions...

He's being a tool...

No one saying Oklahoma hasn't seen big venues but the new quarterback and the oline have never experienced anything like Neyland.

he meant every (or most) games Oklahoma plays on the road are in front of sold out crowds. just for the record he did not say he was not impressed w Neyland. He just said they have played in similar environments. Like I said in this post. Loud is loud. Doesn't matter if it's 50,000, 85000, or 102455.

numbers don't matter much. Kansas st. (One of toughest )and loudest places to play. Places like Oregon, smaller doesn't necessarily mean not as loud. there is not a better neutral site atmosphere than Dallas for the Texas game.
