Normally it doesn't bother me, but on posts where you are calling someone else dumb, I think you should at least check your spelling.

Dtackles are incredible athletes, it's why there are so few of them and everyone wants them. It's why the two hihest rated players inthe draft this year are suh and McCoy. They have to be mean, be quick and have incredible agility. They are the Cadillac of big men. If the coaches and experts thought he could play dtackle that's where he would have been recruited. I'm not saying a good olineman is not a good athlete, but to think one could be moved there primarily because he's big or a good guard prospect is just wrong.

Long time reader, first time poster.....that being said, I have watched Stone for the past 2 years as a referee. Seeing him up close, IMO he could easily be moved to DT. With depth issues at both OL and DL, i believe he will stay at OL. I also believe that hw will be OG. He will need to improve his footwork and strength, but he has an ideal frame to be an outstanding OG.

Interesting comments...lot of perspective you can offer having seen him play in person...

Where in Joelton do you live?

not saying he needs to move there because he is big.Check out his Def stats and how good they would have been if he got to take all his snaps there.I cant find a 5 star DT that has better stats.

did anything I say sink in? Dtackles get moved to oline because they just aren't quite as quick as they need to be, but they have enough quickness for the oline. Stone had problems when he went up against speed rush ends, both against j smith and at the camp last summer. If he is struggling with enough quickness to play tackle against a pass rush coming off the end, he sure as heck won't play dtackle in the sec.

Albert Haynesworth has no idea of what you are talking about.

?. Yeah I guess he does run half speed most of the times. By the last sentence of my original post, I would say that you have a defensive personality.

DT are made to penetrate and bust plays there not used to chase down RB and QB's.They flush them out to let the DE and LB's clean up the mess they made.So im not understanding your point. i did not say try him at DE were he needs 4.5 speed and great footwork.

notice I said agility and quickness, not speed. "busting" through the line by a dtackle that generally weighs less than a olineman isn't done by speed or only by size and strength, it's done by quickness and agility. Im not trying to sound harsh, it's just if you follow college football closely, you'd know why what your saying got foamed so badly, it's just silly. Especially an guard. The main difference between interior linemen and tackles is that tackles have quick enough feet to handle edge rushers. If you don't have the agility to do this, then no way on earth do you play dtackle.

You almost never see offensive linemen converted to defense at this level. It's almost always the other way around.

Maybe we don't have enough depth on the defensive line, but taking a good offensive lineman and turning him into a bad defensive lineman doesn't help us any.

This is a mind-bogglingly moronic thread. What a dumb, dumb idea. We played two walk-ons this year on the OL - so let's move one of the two highly-rated OL guys we just signed, away from the OL. Makes perfect sense. (If you recently got hit in the head multiple times with a heavy object.)

The guy would be a beast at DT.

I did not need to read this to know it was BS. Then, I thought, maybe they have some information. Next I get in the thread and you have no reason to back up the thread.

Hum??????? Should Peyton Manning play DE Monday night since DF is hurt? I'll hang up and listen.

Don't start threads with ? when you have limited intelligence.

Couldn't agree with you more. There's a reason Stone was recruited by all those schools to play OL instead of DL.

Ridiculous. Being big does not mean that you'll be a great DT. It's difficult for OL to move to DT. A lot easier for DT to move to OL. IMO, we do not have any OL that will move to DT with the exception of possibly Hood who was a TE and has the athleticism to make that jump.

Hood also starred as a DE in highschool, so may have the potential to grow into a DT.
