Stone moving to DT?

Ridiculous. Being big does not mean that you'll be a great DT. It's difficult for OL to move to DT. A lot easier for DT to move to OL. IMO, we do not have any OL that will move to DT with the exception of possibly Hood who was a TE and has the athleticism to make that jump.

Move him to the Dline and your Oline gets thin again. As the old saying goes you would rob Peter to pay Paul

i think Fulton will step up for the OL. Stone was a animal in highschool as a DT want be a hard transition.

Long time reader, first time poster.....that being said, I have watched Stone for the past 2 years as a referee. Seeing him up close, IMO he could easily be moved to DT. With depth issues at both OL and DL, i believe he will stay at OL. I also believe that hw will be OG. He will need to improve his footwork and strength, but he has an ideal frame to be an outstanding OG.

Do you know how much Hood weighs now? That is not a bad idea, but he's a little light in the pants for DT.

nice to see some input from somebody that has seen him up close in the trenches. One big key difference between O and D lineman is DL HAVE to have a mean streak and a motor that doesn't stop. It doesn't hurt for OL guys to have this attribute, but DL have to have it. Something about that bowtie he had on led me to believe that he did not have much of a mean streak. Plus I heard he is pretty smart, which to me means that he is more suited for the OL.

Albert Haynesworth has no idea of what you are talking about.

The guy would be a beast at DT.

yes ... we need to move him from his natural position he has played in and was highly recruited for to put him in a position he doesn't play.... Only problem is OL is also a need position. Have you seen what we lose on the OL this year?? I guess we could move Da'Rick to Guard to fill in? Maybe Simms can play TE too.

Stone scored a 28 on his ACT IIRC. The guy is a big dude. I don't know if he will be ready to play as a true frosh, might have to play out of necessity. I thought he was a step slow to be OT. He was typically a lot bigger and stronger than 98% of the guys he played against. I remember the game in 2009 when he played Jac Smith's team. If Smith got a step on him, the QB was in trouble. But if Stone got his hands on Smith, Stone could hold his own. It is a real pleasure to get to see some of these kids in the field within feet of the action. Sometimes that is the best scouting out there.

I agree with you. I have watched him play several times in person and a few on TV. Strong player with limited lateral movement. He needs to get quicker feet. IMO, he wouldn't see time as a DT until later on in his career. He can be the first backup at left or right guard on the OLine with a productive spring and fall camp.

I could be wrong but im pretty sure Da'Rick dont have alot of time at OL.Pretty sure Simms did not take many snaps at TE in juco.I sure am glad all the nay sayers was right on moving Jason Witten from DE to TE we all know that didnt work out.

I'd rather see him open up some holes for the backs. Wilcox will get creative and we'll be ok.
