BTO posted this in another thread but I thought it was worthy if it's own thread. Sounds like it was a pretty bad accident.

NBA Car crash interrupts Stokes' draft plan - ESPN

"I basically had to slow everything down to unlock my door," Stokes said. "The limo driver was yelling for help. I was able to open his door and get him out. As I was walking out of the car, I felt a sensitivity to sunlight."

Despite feeling woozy from what would later be determined as a concussion, Stokes started jumping up and down. He was worried his basketball career was over.

"I was almost certain after the crash that I wouldn't be able to walk again or something devastating was going to happen," he said. "I had blood everywhere. My face was covered in blood. I felt like the injuries should have been much worse.

"I couldn't walk in a straight line, I couldn't remember the last sentence I said. That's how bad the concussion was."

very lucky young man, hope he makes a full recovery and uses this as a learning lesson, be as careful as you can be in any situation.

He worked out for the Grizz recently also. Would love to see him play for them. Get well young man.

I get this sinking feeling it will affect his draft stock. Hope I'm wrong. If it was just a concussion and some scratches, that's no different than the collateral damage from NBA PT IMO.

He has actually been rising in mock drafts since it happened. So who knows?

Hopefully that's the case, but the media may not have known about it when he was doing his workouts and stuff. I'm just being pessimistic, surely it won't do any significant harm.

They knew. I love all the drafts and have been keeping up with it. He seems to be fine, just missed a few workouts. I would love to see him in Memphis, OKC or SA. He has projections to those teams and the Heat by several sites.

He's such a likable kid. If he remains humble, God will allow this to be a source of strength for him in the coming years.

You have to wonder, if he considers life so precious, why he wasn't wearing a seat belt.

A learning lesson? He was riding in a limo, what could he have done differently? A lot of people on here seem to believe one can control everything, life and fate is often chaos.

A seat belt? You ever rode in a limo? Did you wear a seat belt?
