Was at alumni hall today and I bought one of the orange shirts that say stoked with the size 20 shoe, and at checkout the lady at the cash register said that because jarnell tweeted something that said something telling people to buy the stoked shirt, someone in one of the ncaa departments had contacted alumni hall because they were afraid stokes was getting some of the profits.so alumni hall has stopped ordering them.just what she said.sorry if it all just seems like one big sentence. EDIT:she also said that they had plans to make a "fear the stache shirt, but are going to hold off for a while.

lol. NCAA is such a joke.

Let's make millions off these kids and they get nothing.

Sounds like our compliance pulled the plug on this one. Sounds very strange to stop selling them because you are afraid what the NCAA will think. If he isn't getting any money for "advertising" the shirts then what is the issue. Bad move by UT if I am understanding this correctly.

the mistake was made by stokes and the remarks he made.IMO with the trouble that has surrounded the university in the last few years its probably a good idea to be good little boys and not walk the line on certain issues

Better safe than sorry and I actually expected this to happen.

But I was just commenting on the overall view by the NCAA on player's making money on their image/name. It's a joke they get all the revenues from their image and the players get nothing.

exactly with the recent issues we have had there is no reason what so ever to push the envelope the least bit.

Why do you feel Stokes made a mistake?

If he isn't getting any money or wasn't told to say to buy the shirts I can't see anything at all wrong with this.

he didnt do anything wrong technically that he could get in trouble for what im saying by saying that he made a mistake is that what he said caused these shirts to be removed from stores. im sure looking back on it he views that tweet as a mistake as it is costing him from having his shirt sold in stores now. therefore a mistake.

The tweet had a bad result but it seems to me that UT compliance is the one at fault here. Anyway not a big deal. Looking forward to tomorrow night. Nothing to lose!
