They should just not be able to stop or review the play if the ball has been snapped already.Again it was terrible but not the worst call...
the worst was still us completing that long pass for a first down, and rushing up and snapping the ball and Star having a wide open lane for a TD and the refs stopped it during the play to review if we had gotten 24 or 30 yards
The proper 15 yard penalty would have taken them out of range and put them way behind the sticks.I think what happened to us was worse. We are just good enough to actually overcome it and win. As for Auburn's game, Oklahoma was still in FG range on 1st down in the 2nd quarter when that trick play happened. Oklahoma could have still scored or kicked a FG if they were called for a penalty. The truth is is that Jackson Arnold sucks and Auburn fans would rather blame the refs.
The sack fumble touchdown made me feel better.Every game will have a call that goes against you or for you which could change the outcome. The best thing is to win enough plays/score enough that you have insurance against such bad calls. If you live on the razors edge of victory/defeat you are going to get cut. Heupel needs to get his team to play at a higher level, minimize mistakes.
Yeah, I saw that too. I think the official further away reacted because the db dropped to the ground and the ref assumed it was because of a push. Terrible call regardless. The official nearest the play, who didn't throw a flag, needs to have the stones to tell the guy who threw it even though he was across the field to pick the damn flag up.
Fun fact, the head official during this game was apparently an ex-Alabama quarterback. I would take this with a grain of salt since I'm still unsure if this is completely true, but if so, then there's your answer...…over that PI on Brazzell. What a joke of a call. It’s like calling over the back on a 7 footer when he rebounds one over ZZ. Don’t penalize a player for his ability and athleticism. It’s a joke! Our head coach needs to just take the fine and blast the way his teams are treated. Then our AD needs to say he will pay it!
We aren’t a ‘never was’ and are long no longer a ‘has been’. It’s time we got respect.
If this needs to be combined with another thread I apologize.
Speaking of that, I saw the refs come over and talk to Heupel after an extra point “injury”. It wouldn’t shock me at all if the refs collectively decided to give teams leeway against us because of thatCJH might get more help from the refs when he stops the fake injuries on extra points. There is really no reason to do that now we have depth.
