Steven Pearl (merged)

Beautiful.

I'm waiting for Steven Pearl to hit the NBA.

I'd like him on the Cavs, feeding the ball to LeBron. Don't know why, just think that the fact of Pearl and LeBron James on the same floor makes me happy.[/QUOTE]

Me too. I'm a Hawks fan. :)

Why is Steven pearl getting so many minutes I know he's a senior and Bruce son but "come on man" it's obvious the guy has no offense and his defense is suspect. I know we have better talent on the bench (woolridge, mcbee, hall) I just think it's ridiculous!!!!!

Other than outside shooting, what does McBee bring to the table that's better than Pearl?

Why do people with much less basketball knowledge than any D-1 coach, question a guy getting paid millions to his job, which he is doing very well. Leave it to the coaches, I promise, they are doing what they think is best for the team.

First of all, steven is not a senior and what does that have to do with playing time. Second, have you watched him play any at all? He's the most physical player that we have and he frustrates the bigs on other teams. Yes he is a liability on the offensive side but so is Brian Williams. Get off his back cuz he gives us all hes got

Didn't know college players made millions!

Ok tell me what have he done besides trying to take charge and end up getting call for fouls

Stephen would probably get more playing time and we'd win more games if it wasn't for all of the fans complaining and putting pressure on Bruce to play Stephen fewer minutes.

We won't go far if this guy gets more than 15 minutes a game.

Woolridge is 10x as talented as Pearl, but Woolridge just sucks right now. He can't defend; if he ever makes an offensive play, he usually follows it up with something negative. Pearl gives us some consistency, hustle, and pretty solid defense. That's why he plays. It just isn't that complicated.

Tell us what Mcmiss has done ?besides throw up bricks, turn the ball over and foul ?Mcmiss is where he belongs , on the bench.

So we'll be good since Pearl averages under 11 minutes/game. I wish people would drop the "he only plays because he's the coaches son." Any reasonable bball IQ can see what he brings.

If he is listening to fan complaints and allowing pressure to dictate his decisions then he should be fired immediately.

Why don't you get your facts straight and stop your whining?

In a perfect world (or on a perfect team), you have guys who can score at will, and defend anyone on the planet. In reality, all guys have strengths and weaknesses. All teams have strengths and weaknesses.

Steven Pearl brings a tenacity on defense that can derail the focus of players on the other team. He has five fouls to give. Per Rivals, Pearl is shooting 50% - 3rd best on the team. He gives his all (I wish he would practice his free throws!!!) on the court.

We could not win with 5 Steve Pearls on the court, but we can win with him on the court, in most situations.

Our team should be a much better tourney team, because of the things we have had to overcome this season. Steven, McBee, Bone, Goins, etc. will hopefully be ready to play when called upon. That could be very important in the Georgetown game, when depth could play a large part in the final stages of the game.

I really am tired of people hating on the guy. At the beginning of the season, I questioned him myself. Watching a few games and noticing his effort, grit and determination changed all of that for me. If he was not doing any better than his competition, I would understand the complaints. Our bench just isn't bringing it too hard right now.
