In a perfect world (or on a perfect team), you have guys who can score at will, and defend anyone on the planet. In reality, all guys have strengths and weaknesses. All teams have strengths and weaknesses.
Steven Pearl brings a tenacity on defense that can derail the focus of players on the other team. He has five fouls to give. Per Rivals, Pearl is shooting 50% - 3rd best on the team. He gives his all (I wish he would practice his free throws!!!) on the court.
We could not win with 5 Steve Pearls on the court, but we can win with him on the court, in most situations.
Our team should be a much better tourney team, because of the things we have had to overcome this season. Steven, McBee, Bone, Goins, etc. will hopefully be ready to play when called upon. That could be very important in the Georgetown game, when depth could play a large part in the final stages of the game.
