Let's face it he is a liability when he's on the court. Slow on defense, ZERO threat on offense, and his shot makes Charles Barkley's golf swing look good.
I know we are shallow on the bench, but I would rather play a tired Swiperboy or Kenny Hall than a fresh Baby Pearl.

He's lucky that Daddy's the coach or no PT for him. Makes Saul Smith look like an All-American when he played for his dad, Tubby, at UK.

right now, Pearl is as effective as Prince...

Prince makes good plays every now and then, but tries to do too much and in a close game against a more evenly matched team, he's gonna cost us some games

pearl shoots free throws like my little sister used to when she turned around backwords and tried to throw it over her head without looking. tisk tisk tisk.

I was chanting his name like "Eric Berry" at the Kansas game. . .totally sarcastic of course, but still fun. He had a good two minute span for us :)

I don't mind it when he is out there for about 2-3 min at a time, but anymore than that is ridiculous.

I see things are back to usual on this board with the unnecessary abuse of loyal UT athletes by the creepy crawlers.

He typically doesn't shoot the ball, and I haven't seen him make too many screw ups, however, it amazes me how bad he is at free throws.

I thought JP was the worst FT shooter in the world. JP looks like Telfair compare to SP.

Do you watch games with your eyes closed? Every minute that SP is on the court equates to about a one point curve for the opposition. He's a liability on defense and can't handle the ball. Other teams know that and swarm him...you could see that tonight.

Stephen Pearl sucks, but at least he plays tough D away from the ball. I think Bobby Maze is a bigger liability in terms of defensive efforts. If the opposition gets a wide open look, it was probably Bobby's man taking the shot. So frustrating.

Pearl played so much b/c Chism, Hall and Woolridge all had foul trouble. I think his biggest liability is trying to help bring the ball up the court. If the other team doesn't press, it's less of a problem. Did you notice later in the 2nd half, that Chism stayed back to help when Pearl was on the floor? He is not a scorer and occasionally makes a defensive play, but ball handling is the main issue.

I agree totally. Last night it was almost as if SP was in the game specifically to "help" with the press. I don't understand why he would be anywhere near the backcourt against a full court press.

They should have had someone else help the PG bring the ball up against the press.

Hey, I've got a great idea, let's rip on the players today. Especially since they aren't busting their butts and winning games.

:bad:

Right now they are short handed. Hopefully as the others earn their way back then his playing time will decrease dramatically.

There you have it.

I understand with depth and Chism getting 2 fouls before the first TV time out he's going to have to be out there more than I would like, but for the life of me I could not understand why he was helping bring the ball up the floor. I was thankful he only had one turnover against it.

I love his hustle and he is definitely worth one or two junk plays a game, but I would be getting Tatum back into the rotation quickly in his spot.

I didn't hear anyone complaining during the Kansas game when he drew those fouls late in the game....Seriously get over it.
