Doesn't want to lose to Gator and Vols.

Really wished he would finish out the season. Shame to throw in the towel like this.

Might be trying to give his son a tryout like Bobby Knight did with his son

Crazy day for both USC and USCjr.

Hate to see the OBC go. I hate watching him go out like this. One of the best ever in college football

Bout time.

Don't want him associated with the crap that's currently taking place under his watch. That's not who and what he was.

Care to explain? As in his team or college football overall? Just asking.

I'll miss the head ball coach. CSS was great for college football and very amusing. He was great with the one liners.

Spurrier doesn't want a 6-game pity party where people present him rocking chairs at midfield, not his style. He's literally about to ride off in to the sunset to golf and beach for the rest of his life.

There's a true freshman DE who Tweeted that he made the "wrong decision" and. "Should have listened to his parents". Stuff like that happens and your recruiting is pretty much shot and ain't getting better. There are players that went to Columbia because of him that are probably feeling like trash because they failed him...only argument I have against him doing this at such a point of the season. But if he's done, he's got no one to answer to.

Wow. Hmmm could the miserable SOB be that vain? Even with all my vitriolic comments towards him I hope he isn't sick. But if he isn't sick this is an interesting thought.

Loved to see the UT battles with him over the years. Thought he stay through season's end but he may have his reasons. A loss for college football.

Wonder if SC precipitated it. Battle for big-name coaches and SCAR didn't want to lose out. Though SCAR and SC won't be going after the same people-- except in Cocks fans' dreams.

I love the man.

But, if it's immediate that ain't right. Shouldn't quit on them. Finish the season.

Assuming this isn't health related.

I'm with you 99gator. Sure hope it's not health related but if he's just flat out quitting the team before the end of the season, then I've lost some respect for the OBC. Loved to hate him on game day but he's been a helluva good thing for college football over the years.
