What if saban leaves for texas, kiffin moves up to head coach, sark ends up the OC...would make sense. Saban basically built depth at coaching staff...groomed his own replacements.

Kiffin at HC for bama...what a nightmare for us lolol. I feel gross for talking about it...

Briles, Petrino or whoever. Just win games. College football has changed. I'm not looking at anything other then coaching record. I don't care if they had an affair, wrecked a motorcycle, had a crazy athletic department, had an alcohol problem. The days of all shucks are pretty much gone for me. If you need the guy on the sidelines to represent you or your values then you need to find some meaning in your life.

I just want to win, don't care if it's Gomer Pyle or The Terminator coaching.

Agreed, I refuse to take Satan as a coach in order to win, but Beelzebub or few lower demons I can side eye and make allowances for if it's annual trips to the SECCG.

Meh, kiffin doesnt really strike me as the "texas type"...plus, im not so sure Texas is willing to take another chance on an up-and-comer. They want to win...and now. I read an article where the texas boosters or AD, i cant remember which, but they are already bragging about how much money they are willing to spend on a HC and how they are about to make a huge statement hire. The way they worded it makes it seem like they want a proven guy like Saban, Meyer or Fisher.

I wouldnt mind UT looking at Sark to replace DeBord. Know he's had some personal issues but the dude knows offense and QBs. Plus picking up some skills at Bama. Thoughts?

Butch doesn't know him and he is not familiar with Butch's system

We already have Gomer Pyle.

Yeah and then end up on probabtion in 3 years wrapped up in title 9 lawsuits.

I get that cfb isnt sunday school but good Lord man, morality has to play a role somewhere. Being a good coach should not be validation that it's okay to be a horrible human being.

You're right. Plus there's no way I would let my kid play for someone who puts football over rape victims.

If this is the best you can do with suggestions, I wouldn't mind you walking barefoot over broken glass. Asinine idea.

Since the common meaning of asinine is "ass"-like referring to the animal's stubborn tendencies I'd say you used poor word choice here.

If you meant to imply it's a foolish suggestion, I'd argue Saban knows just a little more about football (and likely proper word use) than you and he hired him at an elite program at least as an advisor and possibly his next OC.

Why?????? :dunno: You and the other malcontents would be calling for his head after a loss or two.

Yes, hiring your buddy at OC who was not employed in the position (or any meaningful job in football), no experience developing QBs (see Dobbs), and then failing to adjust game strategy or prep teams usually does make donors malcontented.

You have a marvelous grasp of the obvious.

Not sure why everyone is so up on Sark...to me there are plenty of OCs out there (w/out the checkered past) that are a closer fit to Butch's system. See Tony Franklin or maybe Sterlin Gilbert after Charlie Strong is fired.

Let's please try to stay with high character folks...the way some folks hate on CBJ and CRB and both of those are considered by most people to be high character guys...just imagine if a character-issue coach comes here and stuff happens we'd really see a melee....

No one hates Rick Barnes. He is the best coach ever hired for our program.

The problem with Butch is that he doesn't have the IT factor. And sure he is a high character guy. But at the end of the day, people want to see wins. You can run the cleanest program ever, but if you are going 6-6 every year, there is clearly something wrong. That doesn't mean you have to hire a Petrino who will do whatever to win. But at the sametime, you can't judge Petrino for past actions when you or I weren't a party directly involved, and most importantly, when his wife and family have forgiven him and choose to move past it.
