Stern fining Spurs for resting starters vs Heat??

Pops has every right. He doesn't owe the Miami home crowd anything. He owes his own fans...if periodically resting starters gives San Antonio the best chance for a title, it's Pop's duty to do this.

Stern is out of line.

Knowing now that there's actually a rule in place against this, it makes it a shade of gray for me. I can see right and wrong on both sides. Still, ultimately I think teams should be able to rest however they want.

What will he do when lousy teams start tanking games to improve their draft status?

They can, but both sides are right in this. The Spurs,NBA, and TNT all agree to this game before the season. Pop was trying to stick it to the NBA. In the end, that's what he was doing and most people realized it right away.

This is a BS fine. Pop was giving David Stern the middle finger and apparently Stern didn't like it.
